Overbrook in Essex County?
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

I hope some enlightened builder saved those beautiful pillars for use elsewhere.

Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital ? (However, I think Chuck may be the most correct of the two of us.)

Overbrook in Essex County?

Excellent guess, Murph seems to be surrounded by psychiatric asylums, Overbrook being only about 4 miles from him.
Overbrook was so large that it had its own train stop on the Caldwell Branch of the Erie Railroad. It closed in 2007.

I read that conditions at Overbrook became so bad that the hospital’s director sent a letter to the families of interred patients encouraging them to remove their relatives from the hospital’s care.

But, no, it is not Overbrook.

It is Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital.

Photo taken in 2015, demolition almost complete.

A modern psychiatric facility is on the site now.

Why are old psychiatric asylums being torn down?

They found something better than "Shock Therapy."

The introduction of the so-called “wonder drugs” for the treatment of brain disorders over the last half-century or so meant the deinstitutionalization of hundreds of patients in psychiatric centers across the nation. Gradually, the old psychiatric hospitals lost most of their patients and started the long decline into ruination and decay.

Not all people with psychiatric disorders end up in hospitals. Many are in Jail. A friend of mine was one of them. He was so bad, the jails kept moving him from prison to prison. Everyplace he went the gangs wanted him to be their leader, La Eme or the Mexican Mafia, Aryan Brotherhood and others but not the Black Gangs. All he had to do was kill their current leader.

Since I hang out with him I hope he has no enemies waiting to get out of jail to get even for something he did before medicine changed his life.

I think I know where that cactus is, in fact, I think I took the picture. I will disqualify myself on this one.

Maybe, roughly as tall as the one I moved inside the house Sunday; just ~8 feet tall brushing the ceiling of the foyer.

Seventy-Six today but PhotoBuckt's datetime code on it is 7/23/2013, 1:10:19 PM making the legs in the picture 5 years, 3 months younger. Do you have a different date?

How much does yours weigh? The one Murph is showing is not that tall but it it weighs ~1,000 lbs.
