They are for shooting at flying saucers? Dangerous place to fire loud canons--might cause an avalanche.

I would imagine they fire those canons because they want to control when the avalanches occur, by causing them to happen, rather than unexpectedly on unsuspecting tourists/snow-hikers (?)

Roy got it first.

Railroads do it too.

Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Delicious Art Deco coolness! I love the front of the locomotive! Now, the balls and columns make sense to me - as smokestacks. It looks like they've got their pollution under control, too.

The artist even made his autograph look like a personal helicopter (or autogyro), thus integrating himself into the cityscape.

How'd you figure that one out, Chuck? Something you had seen previously and recalled quickly?

Or, he did a photo search on the second clue.

Combination. Your guess + photo search lead to entire image. It took several more searches to get the artist and title.

Who are you Chuck?

Good job, no matter how you did it. :D

Art Deco smoke is rather amusing.

Anyone can play this one but I want to see if Chuck can beat everyone.

The book of Ezekiel is distinguished by visions, similes, and allegories, or parables, and especially by performance of symbolic actions.

What is the following image a symbol of?

The reason for the splice line is I did not have time to set up my cell phone camera for a panorama photo because the rainbow was changing too fast. I took two quick photos and it was gone. Then I spliced the two together.
