I was at the Model Cave in Ypsilanti, great plastic kit shop, and was picking up a special order when I saw the Thomas Graham book on Aurora Model Kits on the sales counter. This is a companion to the Revell book (now in it's third edition) and it made me look to see if there were additional publications as there were a lot more kit manufacturers. There is a Monogram Models book. These three represent the "big three" of the 50's and 60's. Nice write ups of the histories of the companies and great behind the scenes photo's as well as photo's of the original box cover art.



Hoping he does a fill in publication for the little guys like Renwall, Hawk, Adams, Testors, ITC and maybe a one specific to car kits for AMT, MPC, Johann (loved the Turbine kit with steerable wheels, opening doors, folding seats and a full trunk)

I have an early edition of the Monogram book. Unfortunately the histories of these and other early model companies are rapidly disappearing and will probably never be recorded.

Just last year I learned here that there was an O scale manufacturer in Montville, Ohio. Unfortunately Harley Smith, who would have known something about it passed away 2 years ago.
