That's not at all obvious; genetics is just a wee tad more complicated than that.....

Okay, I'm interested to hear how it did happen ??

No, I'm just stating that simple breeding is not 100% of the cause of evolution as breeding is not the sole cause of mutation; that genome does not change solely from breeding. Mutation requires actual change to the genome and that generally involves input from outside sources that are very well known to be always active. The simplistic genetics that was taught in high school is..........watered down. You can spend a few years studying genetics and still be a good ways off from having a complete picture.

Personally, I feel that many people evolved from weasels.

If I may, this much I can offer, from Biology class at college, decades ago, trying to be succinct about it: We are not evolved from apes and monkeys; they are a different branch in the story, though the larger overall group would be the Primates.

Australopithecus would be at the beginning of our branch of the story, though some scientists do not consider him part of our species, directly; he would not be part of the simian story line, however.

P.S. I am positive my betters here on MTJ will correct and refine my recollection of the story line and its particulars, which would be most welcome, of course.

Since we were talking about Adam and Eve and the bible, if evolution is the true path as to how humans came to exist, why would anyone believe anything that is written in the bible. Do humans actually have a purpose to exist ?

Aaaaahhh, now, there you have hit at the heart of it all. And do we need a purpose? If so, why do we need a purpose?
Personally, I always thought our purpose was to look out for each other and to be kind.

Plus, it's nice we invented a whole lot of stuff, too, which does not necessarily give life purpose but it sure does make it easier and fun at times. For example... (Have you ever seen one of these close-up? Driven one? Owned one? I bet that'll give life a purpose, at least, for a little while !)

Debatable. But, is it necessary, and if so, is this race mature enough to accept an actual purpose? Mature enough - not likely.

Are we the only animals that can laugh? Take a look at your current avatar cartoon. If a person of your intellectual stature and value to the community-at-large can elect to have that dancin' , wigglin' froggie as his symbol or representative, apparently, humor is part of our purpose = to make each other smile. :D

That was at one time a test of intelligence, but I believe that both chimps and other mammals have been shown to possess a sense of humor and to laugh.

Without a purpose, how would one come to the conclusion that we need to look out for others ?

It appears that a multitude of humans subscribe to YOLO. You only live once so do as you damn well please because you have no one to answer to. Do humans actually have a soul ?

Why would a person continue to go to church if we have no purpose in life. Maybe they like the social aspect of being around other humans.

I thought I had seen mention of that on Nat Geo from time to time.

Without a purpose, how would one come to the conclusion that we need to look out for others ?...

The question was rhetorical (asked to make a point rather than to elicit an answer); the viewpoint actual.

I'll conclude that your not getting that was due to lack of facial expression, tone of voice, and your not "getting me," all along, these many conversations.

You see, my reply to my own rhetorical question was my answer to the musing.
