Mission commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin, both American, landed the lunar module Eagle on July 20, 1969, at 20:17 UTC. Armstrong became the first person to step onto the lunar surface six hours after landing on July 21 at 02:56:15 UTC; Aldrin joined him about 20 minutes later.

Thanks for that name, John. I just couldn't recall the term. However, researching the proper term for the perfume fixative, it seems some folks refer to it as "whale vomit," and some refer to it as having been expelled at the other end of the whale, expelled, for example, because a squid's beak was not digestible and became an irritant for the whale, which expelled it, wrapped in the intestinal substance and sometimes found washed-ashore onto beaches.

July 20 was also the date of the von Stauffenberg attempt on Hitler's life. This was in 1944.

The owls may indeed not be what they seem but still serve an imperative function: they remind us to look into the darkness.

Not really; try this slightly louder than wallpaper peeling volume - way past 11 on the dial.

Thanks for the link, but, truth be told, Rainbow, "Do You Close Your Eyes" was a ho-hum for me, seeming a bit passé' (if you will forgive me.) I preferred the sidebar link, "20 Mysterious Photos That Cannot Be Explained," more, though I have kept the music roaring in the background as I am searcheing.. It opened up a whole world of links to visit, though I imagine good ol' Wayne will assert they are all photo-shopped twaddle. :?

Go to the final 3-4 minutes.

Walking on the electric guitar? High-heeled white shoosies? Bashing a guitar? Seems frustrated and a bit horny, given that much hostility. He's lucky he didn't hit some poor soul in the eye and get suitably sued. Oh, and the white fringe jacket-shirt - I had one, too.

Sorry. None of it moved me.

Much hostility is an understatement given the conditions that led up to this concert.......

Sorry. None of it moved me.

Really amazing at what gets passed off as music and entertainment. Probably everyone in attendance is a stoner so they wouldn't know the difference.

Most of them are our age now.....so probably the folks in charge of everything - that's the way these things cycle around.

In 1977 you were probably sitting around listening to Muskrat Love from The Captain and Tennille

NO,No,No. In 1977 it was Fleetwood Mac and the Rumours album. And Styx Grand Illusion album. ZZTop.

Styx was the only rock concert I have ever been to. Took my daughter to see the Kilroy was here concert in the 80s. I made a deal with her for getting good grades. She got the 3rd one on the list. Dad would pay for it but dad goes with you. The top of the list for straight A's was Dad pays for it and you can go with your friends. She almost got that one......

Just finished watching "Saving Private Ryan" for the third time. A particularly profound closing, I felt, when the camera focused upward at the face of Private Ryan as he witnessed his officer die and then in approximately 3 seconds translated into being his face as a Senior Citizen veteran standing over the officer's grave. Very moving in its poignancy.
