They have coffee beans picked from monkey droppings. Mmm yummy. No zoo keeper needed to lick them out

I think I should have started a thread about Coffee.  But this is a lot of FUN.

From what Rufus posted
No. 1 Most Expensive Coffee Comes From Elephant's No. 2
https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/20 ... hants-no-2

Black Ivory Coffee workers sort coffee beans out of elephant dung.

Monkey droppings and elephant deposits seem pretty desperate lifestyles. It makes one wonder who first saw such objet d'art as resources for beverages.

Seeing those industrious folks crouching over those objects makes me think about there being people in some countries who complain about having to go to work in an office building wearing a coat-and-tie. It's all relative, isn't it.
P.S. I'm glad somebody there thought of wearing those plastic gloves.

The variety of replies and sub-topics contained in this thread is an example of what I find attractive about this forum, MTJ. If we look at where this thread started and at where it has traveled to this point about sources for coffee beans, we have an amazing example of freedom of expression and of copasetic conviviality.
Bravo us! :D And Thank You, forum sponsor.

If the thread drift here is not appreciated by individual posters they can always visit other forums where it is forbidden.

I'd imagine nobody there is a nail-biter.
P.S. I wonder if they use the water residue from washing the beans as a mixture to water their gardens.

Roger, I wasn't complaining about the thread drift. Talking about coffee has been fun. So much fun that maybe I should have started a thread about coffee. I start a lot of threads and most take off in different direction. Not a problem for me. What even the members want to talk about is fine by me.

And seeing Murph's last post maybe we will talk about fertilizer next.

How about the movie "Bucket List". I don't know if it's true, but in the movie Jack Nicholson drank the world's most expensive coffee, until Morgan Freeman told him it came from cat droppings. Gives some credence to the photos above.

From U.S. money in NATO to civet droppings coffee. Quite a range. Should we be proud or... I continue to vote for being ourselves and having the freedom to shift around as we converse. Wouldn't we be doing that if we were in a room together, in-person, and certainly not sticking to one anointed topic religiously , without worry? Although I am sorry about those who have exited stage-left and slammed the door closed behind them, I say, can't we yak and be wild and free without unfortunate occurrences? Maaaaybe. :D

Hondo,
I didn't take it as a complaint. Just pointing out what those that don't like it can do. :D
