Perhaps....a new thread - Structures? Neither 2 or 3 rail section as scenery/structure is rail number indifferent.

Words to ponder.....

What if both twins realize that one of them is unplanned?

- What if my dog only brings back my ball because he thinks I like throwing it?

- If poison expires, is it more poisonous or is it no longer poisonous?

- Which letter is silent in the word "Scent," the S or the C?

- Why is the letter W, in English, called double U? Shouldn't it be called double V?

- Maybe oxygen is slowly killing you and It just takes 75-100 years to fully work.

- Every time you clean something, you just make something else dirty.

- The word "swims" upside-down is still "swims".

- Intentionally losing a game of rock, paper, scissors is just as hard as trying to win.

- 100 years ago everyone owned a horse and only the rich had cars. Today everyone has cars and only the rich own horses.

- Your future self is watching you right now through memories.

- The doctors that told Stephen Hawking he had two years to live in 1953 are probably dead.

- If you replace "W" with "T" in "What, Where and When", you get the answer to each of them.

- Many animals probably need glasses, but nobody knows it.

- If you rip a hole in a net, there are actually fewer holes in it than there were before.

- If 2/2/22 falls on a Tuesday, we'll just call it "2's Day". (It does fall on a Tuesday)

- 100 years ago a Twenty Dollar bill and a Twenty Dollar gold piece were interchangeable. Either one would buy a new suit, new shoes and a night on the town. The Twenty Dollar gold piece will still do that.

Those are fun. I like every one of them and am going to commit them to memory for future use when I need to add a bit of whimsy to a conversation.

Words to ponder.....

What if both twins realize that one of them is unplanned?
That is usually the case.

- What if my dog only brings back my ball because he thinks I like throwing it?
Lucky you.

- If poison expires, is it more poisonous or is it no longer poisonous?
Neither… it is less poisonous. The expiration date, at least in the US, as regulated by the EPA, refers to a guaranteed period that has been tested by the poison manufacturer in which they have proven that the concentration of the active ingredient stays within a 10% range of the listed concentration. So basically after the expiration date the manufacturer doesn't guarantee that their product's listed concentration is valid.
Many poisons are organic in nature (the superwarfarins, the metabolic poisons such as bromethalin). They will, in the presence of a bait matrix, slowly degrade over time through interactions with the other ingredients - grains, dyes and flours in the bait have lots of enzymes present that will interact with the poison. The rate of degradation completely depends on the specific compound. You may see some rodenticides lose half of their concentration in a couple of years. At NO point does this mean they are good to eat or should be treated as non-poisonous.
Others such as inorganic zinc and aluminum phosphide will react with water vapor in the air and give off phosphine gas, which has a pungent, garlic odor.
Most poisons after expiration will still work, but not as well as when fresh, due to the reduced concentration. Instead of killing 8 out of 10 rats who eat a certain amount of bait, it might kill 4 out of 10. Furthermore baits lose some of their attractants (flavoring) over time and often harden, making it more difficult for rodents to chew, so that also changes effectiveness.

- Which letter is silent in the word "Scent," the S or the C?
The C, don’t pronounce the C.

- Why is the letter W, in English, called double U? Shouldn't it be called double V?
Latin was once the international language. Latin was problematical for German and English authors because it had no W sound. At first authors invented the double V (VV) to represent the W sound in Latin texts. When the lower case v became rounded into u and the capital U was derived from it, the W sound became uu or UU. So, when writing a name in Latin text my name would be written, “uuayne at first and later, “UUayne.” Since the double U form of the sound W in Latin was the last form used, we still call W double u.

- Maybe oxygen is slowly killing you and It just takes 75-100 years to fully work.
Not maybe, oxygen is a poison and eventually will kill us. Our bodies need a defense mechanism and it is found in our food. Food like oranges that supply an antioxidant, vitiman C. If we eat more fruits and vegetables we might live longer. Might? Yes, there are more things at work trying to kill us than just oxygen.

- Every time you clean something, you just make something else dirty.
It is inevitable, accept it.

- The word "swims" upside-down is still "swims".
smiws? No it is not.

- Intentionally losing a game of rock, paper, scissors is just as hard as trying to win.
A basic truth.

- 100 years ago everyone owned a horse and only the rich had cars. Today everyone has cars and only the rich own horses.
Not true.
First of all, not everyone has cars today and the rich are not the only ones who own horses.

Secondly, 110 years ago, in 1908, there were 140,300 cars registered in the U.S. and a paltry 2,900 trucks. People and goods still traveled long distances on land by railroad, and short distances by foot or horse-drawn carriage. Almost nobody rode horses the horses.

And 100 years ago, in 1918, there had been a 33-fold increase in the number of cars registered, to almost 5 million, and a 134-fold increase in the number of commercial, agricultural and military vehicles, to almost 400,000. Horses were now an imperiled minority on the roads.

So stop pondering that one, it is simply not true.

- Your future self is watching you right now through memories.
Wrong, my future self does not exist yet.

- The doctors that told Stephen Hawking he had two years to live in 1953 are probably dead.
It was 1963 and the doctor is not named so… yeah, probably dead.

- If you replace "W" with "T" in "What, Where and When", you get the answer to each of them.
Correct.

- Many animals probably need glasses, but nobody knows it.
The animals probably don’t know it either.

- If you rip a hole in a net, there are actually fewer holes in it than there were before.
Duh!

- If 2/2/22 falls on a Tuesday, we'll just call it "2's Day". (It does fall on a Tuesday)
February 2, 2022 falls on a Wednesday.

- 100 years ago a Twenty Dollar bill and a Twenty Dollar gold piece were interchangeable. Either one would buy a new suit, new shoes and a night on the town. The Twenty Dollar gold piece will still do that.
The twenty dollar gold pieces most often encountered by the public are worth between $1,200 and $1,300.

What you pay for a suit is up to you... Brunello Cuchinelli Men's Dark Blue Suit: $1,817. But, for most of us, we can buy a fine suit for under $300.
Salvatore Ferragamo Men's Tramezza Special Edition Medallion-Toe Oxford shoe, Brown: $2,700. For the rest of us, under $300.
Night out at the Yaqui Casino Del Sol
Tejano show featuring Ruben Ramos, Adalberto and Hometown Boys: $25, Drinks: $29, Late night snack; $11
Total cost: $300 + $300 + $25 + $29 + $11 = $665.
Left over: $1,200 to $1,300 - $665 = $535 to $635.

Next time I think I will bring my wife.

Edit 1: Misspelled my own name in Latin, fixed it.

A wife has to have a new outfit too and women's clothes cost a lot more than mens. I already have my suit and shoes, don't need a new outfit every time I go out on the town like the wife does. My savings is $600 on a second night out plus the $635 left over from the night out alone plus the $1200 for the second gold piece adds up to $2435. Hopefully, that is sufficient for a night out if I include my wife.

Faulty math test above, anyone see it?

I hear Rufus speak of programs on SyFy, but many times I see nothing but Futurama reruns listed.
Torturers, White Racists, Gay Bashers, Rich Psychopaths.

If you hear me then we have a problem because then you are in my house and that would be what we technically call "a bad thing".

The only program that I have written about here is The Expanse -- Wed @ pm est. There may only be 3(?) more episodes given that SyFy is probably going to cancel it - probably too expensive.

but many times I see nothing but Futurama reruns listed.

3 nights a week and still funnier than 95% of the rest of everything else everywhere...which says very little for very much else.
