"More than one-quarter of the total homeless population nationwide lives in California, roughly 114,000. The vast majority are “unsheltered” — a more bureaucratic term to describe the thousands living on the streets, under freeways and tucked into grassy fields and parks in cities all around the state."

None of these folks seem to be interested in going to Canada. :?: :?: :?:

This caravan coming from the south are headed to sunny Southern California, They know that Roy And Jerry will welcome them with open arms and help support them.

And the Communist government tells the police to look the other way and the homeless know this and they can do anything they want. It's getting so bad with horribly unsanitary conditions there is going to be a big outbreak of disease.
The very liberal government wants open borders to get votes, anyone can vote in Calif.,

Because anyone can vote in California and they will vote for Democrats. This is why the Communist party has total control in Calif. and no hope of that changing.

I've since read that most in these caravans are hoping to stay in the U.S. However, just because these caravanners are walking north, doesn't mean they will be homeless when they get here. Many homeless are American citizens.

As far as I know, you have to be a U.S. citizen to vote. As for Democrats in California, there was a study (I can't remember by who, at the moment) that showed that leftists tend to be concentrated in coastal areas.

I got a letter from the DMV when I had to renew my drivers license a while ago and it included a form to register to vote. You only had to state that you're a citizen, there is no checking.

Best estimates suggest that in 2014, the year of the most recent data available, California was home to between 2.35 and 2.6 million undocumented immigrants. Nearly a quarter of the nation's undocumented immigrants reside in California, where they constitute more than 6% of the state's population.

More than one million illegal immigrants living in California have received driver's licenses, the state's Department of Motor Vehicles announced Wednesday.

And they all voted for Hillary. :( :( :( :( :(

And Los Angeles is the hit & run capital of the United States, Accidents are up. LA County has more poverty than all the southern red states combined. Rent is through the roof. Young people can forget about buying a house.

Arizona sends 225 National Guard troops to Mexico border, more heading soon
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/arizona-go ... co-border/

PHOENIX -- Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey says 225 National Guard members are heading to the Mexico border to back President Trump's fight against illegal immigration. "These troops will be helping our federal partners with any support role responsibilities that they need," Ducey tweeted Monday, and said more troops will arrive at the border on Tuesday.

Caravan of illegal immigrants decides not to continue to US border

In the past, such caravans were directed to the US border in hopes of securing asylum for the individuals. On Tuesday, People Without Borders announced they will no longer continue their planned trek to the US with the current caravan.

The organization’s leader, Irineo Mujica said, “We will wrap up our work in Mexico City,” expressing concerns for the safety of the hundreds of kids who would be a part of the journey if it continued. Often, the group uses train-hopping as a method to reach America, which is not feasible with such a large number of young people.

In 2014, President Obama faced a similar scenario, but that group of refugees ultimately did reach the US border in continuous waves reaching over 57,000; ultimately, the administration set up emergency shelters while determining how to handle the huge number of people arriving.

So, what happened? Were they allowed to stay or sent back? Does anyone know, as the article doesn't state a conclusion. Most likely allowed to stay to be politically correct, just as Mexico is doing with this caravan.

I kind of doubt that they stayed - Obama actually increased deportation over the previous administration

The children that are being separated from their parents at the border is because the parents crossed the border illegally and the parent are being detained and prosecuted. The children are not being prosecuted. And there are many children at the border that crossed unaccompanied.

The facility, known as Casa Padre, is the largest shelter facility in the U.S. for minors caught crossing the border illegally. But over the last month, the number of boys housed there has increased from around 1,200 to 1,500. While the majority of children at Casa Padre are kids who arrived at the border unaccompanied, it's estimated that about five percent, or 70 boys, are living there because they were separated from their parents at the border.

From April 19 to May 31 this year, 1,995 minors were separated from 1,940 adults at the border, a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said Friday. The figures included separations for illegal entry, immigration violations, or possible criminal conduct by the adult, and they took place during a crackdown on illegal entries. An age breakdown was not provided.

The democrats are out in force today grandstanding and trashing Trump over the separation problem. Of course none of them have a solution other than open the flood gates and let them all in. I would like to see all of democrats go to California and fix the homeless problem.

Couldn't help but notice the caption across the bottom of one of the pics. "Decades old homeless site to be razed outside of Los Angeles". So this has been goin' on for a while, and nobody, not even the almighty Jerry Brown has fixed it.

I am sure this is apples and oranges but earlier it was posted that a quarter of the U.S. homeless are in California.
Later it is stated that a quarter of the illegal immigrants (my term) are also in California. I'm sure there isn't any connection.
