Weekend Photos - 1/26/18

Postby christopher2035 » Fri Jan 26, 2018 10:58 am

After a few weeks of work, I was able to get the old layout down & start on another new one. I built this new, smaller one in our office room. I tried to make it a fun layout for the kids. Below are the first pics of the new setup. Shelves will go in under the board once I'm done w/ the wiring down there. One cool thing about this layout, is my son picked out every accessory that I put on it.

AFter a few days of running them & thinking about the track plan, I made a few changes to the track plan. Moved the town to the center of the layout & decided to add an upper level. The crane will wind up on a spur off the upper track. I felt the 2 tracks & all accessories on the lower level was too cluttered. This gives a little more room for scenery & opens things up a bit more.

So is this fun layout a replacement for the prior iteration, or is that yet to be built? This one looks like fun...always liked the "U" configuration.

It's a replacement for the Hi Rail one. We are expecting in the Spring, so we needed the spare bedroom back. I'm going to do this one w/ nice scenery but using postwar & MPC era trains/accessories. Kind of like out of a Lionel 50's catalog
