Something is wrong, yes.

1949[edit]
In May, 1949, Jaguar demonstrated an XK120 roadster to the press on the high-speed autoroute between Jabbeke and Aeltre in Belgium. The road was closed for the occasion. The white left-hand drive car, chassis number 670002, was the second XK120 built. Jaguar's development engineer Walter Hassan was to have driven but fell ill, so Jaguar test-driver Ron "Soapy" Sutton substituted. With hood and sidescreens erected, and the airflow under the car improved by the addition of a full-length aluminium undertray, the Jaguar was timed through the flying mile by the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium at 126.448 mph (203.498 km/h). With hood, sidescreens and windscreen removed, a metal airflow deflector fitted in front of the driver, and a tonneau cover fastened over the passenger side of the cockpit the speed improved to 132.596 mph (213.393 km/h). The Observer's Book of Automobiles said it was the fastest production car in the world.

So, who you gonna believe? I have no idea.

I had a 1951 XK120. It topped out at 120 mph.
I also had a 1964 XK-E that was advertised to go 160 mph. I gave it a try once. At 120 mph it was still accelerating hard when it blew the head gasket. I replaced the head gasket and never tried to find out how fast it would go again. There was very little gasket material between the cylinders and I considered that to be a weak point in the 4.2L engine.

Check that 160mph advert...the Old Man briefly owned a '71 2+2 E-type with a 5.3L V-12. That thing was spec'd to max out around 138mph (I still have a copy of the owner's manual). A beast, it had four carbs...used to buy Sunoco 195 octane for it.

He sold it after a year and bought a boat...said it was more economical.

Must be nice to have the money - a boat is a hole in the ocean that you throw money into

And an E-type is a hole in the pavement you throw money into, albeit a lovely looking one.

Indeed, but it is a nice hole, now then isn't it. Then again, entire families cold be living in that hole out in the middle of road!

Probably because it is more related to music that was once my background.
I still prefer classic classics such as stuff by Beethoven, Tschaikovsky, Stravinsky, etc,
By the way, I do like the above performances. They are fun.

There are also videos of her doing Mozart and Stravinsky, some with her directing, some not. I am impressed with her singing that material and also directing.

The playfulness of the performances (outstanding) really adds another dimension to the entire event.

You'd almost have to meet her to know if this is only an act (her performance) or if she really is the spook she portrays. Sorry, her behavior bugs the sh*t out of me. I can't get past it.

I loved David Steinberg and many others who were animated and unorthodox (at the time) in their performance and could even appreciate Andy Kaufmann at 1st, but if this performance is really who this lady is, then.........................We have spooks apparently invading every walk of life.

Disclaimer: I could only watch maybe 30-40 seconds of this, so maybe it gets better.

The conductor of the Prokofiev shows that a weird conductor can't mess up a good orchestra.

BH,
Look at some of her performances of Bach or Gershwin.
