MTH is just cheesy period.

Talked to a dealer today that does a goodly amount of Lionel business. When asked about quality control he responded that he is not experiencing
any more returns than he usually had in the last twenty five years. He also doesn't see much different with the present management. He did add
that changes can come rather quickly .

Remembering what street prices for Lionel standard O and Williams and Weaver brass were back in the late 80's and early 90's, prices are really no different today when you figure inflation. Detail was sparse by today's standards. Digital sounds were crude and there was no command control.

I purchased very little product at their street prices as they were released. I purchased some items, like the motorized units, at early buy pricing. I also purchased some nice items at blowout pricing when it came time for Lionel and its dealers to clear them out. Years later I was able to buy those items I liked, like the 8100 N&W locomotive and the various GG-1's, NOS at prices I was willing to pay.
