Re: For Murph re: Bear Interactions
I actually agree with you 100% on this Murph, people attempting to apply their own perceptions (not the word I'm looking for but it's not coming at the moment) to wild animals sooner find out that those critters just aren't particularly civilized or civil. Besides, those bears were hungry. I would still rather be within rock throwing distance of a brown bear than a moose though. (I tend to stay further away from both of them by the way).

Maybe you could take the bears on a hike with you.....

Re: For Murph re: Bear Interactions
It was good to hear him say that even he can't believe he keeps bears. I wish him the best, of course. Luv the hair. (I've often wondered if Rufus wears his hair that way.
)
That's some house he has! I thought, at the start of the video, that he was living at a senior citizen development, but apparently that is his own home. Yet, it seems lonely (to me, not to him). He "goes month on end without seeing another human being,,,262 acres... preferring any animal to humans." Unique.
He's 74, one year older than I. When he dies there alone, I wonder if the bears will eat him.
Thanks for sharing that.

P.S. Those additional videos, like the ones showing "Ten children raised by wild animals" or "Ten hybrid animals" are interesting, too.

More likely smaller scavengers like magpies will get to the carcass first.

If you play with wild animals you will lose.
I spend entirely too many hours a day tying my shoes

Is the character on the right you, Tom?
"If you play with wild animals you will lose." Well, not always, especially if you are afoot and roaming around Manhattan, it is the 70's, and your mind is wide open for adventure.

No, he's at home in his natural habitat, in his Studebaker

Yes, I don't know what your problem with bears is anyway, I intermittently interact with Central Valley Bears and Evergreen Grizzlies all the time.

Yes, if they get out of hand, you just take away their electronic devices for a few days and they straighten up and buckle right down again. After, of course, many recriminations and much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Now I understand. A wry sense of humor and a jovial nature are at the core of your postings.
