(It's 12:33am January 10, and I'm still trying to think of something clever to say. Nothings coming.)

OK. It's 10:48am on Wednesday, and I think I have something not too pea-brained to post as a reply.
Not wanting to demonstrate any favoritism or prejudice toward any color bear, whenever I see a Polar Bear rafting his way near the Jersey shore, or down the Hudson River (currently just now getting de-ice-encrusted) on a hunk of former glacier, I'll pay the proper due and probably load-up my trousers to the same extent if he singles me out for a face-to-face. Oh, and if it does have something to say to me about Jesus, I will pay attention. Ya nevah kno. Messages have been said to have arrived via a wide variety of other delivery systems.

Hindsight is something not well putting too much exertion into as you can't go back and if you did not learn from your experiences, then it's also probable you'll continue on as before.

Unless you have a time machine and are willing to make changes in reality......then you can do that instead.

Making change - or wanting to - was not part of the impression I left that movie considering. The message I derived and valued from A River Runs Through It was not about looking back wanting to change things there. The story and the reflections of the voice-over narrator (the brother) at the ending advised appreciating and cherishing where you had been, and the people there with you. IMHO.

I was just answering your questions that you seemed to be pondering.

Yes, sir. I got it. And I was further refining my expression of my viewpoint. We don't need to agree. The enjoyment, which is why I posted my having seen the movie, in the first place, for me in asking such questions, was to hear the viewpoints of others. I can get a bit (and a whole lot, at times) sentimental and weepy, so I felt I needed to hear other voices on this subject of interpretation, Rufus. :D

Actually, we did agree,

OTOH, there were days when I think I should have put the band together, hit the road, and not look back.............and perhaps I did in an alternate reality. Someday I'll have to check & see how that worked out.

Would David Bowie have approved?

While I'm sitting here listening to his concert in 1976 at the Nassau Coliseum from the Station to Station tour.....and I cannot get it loud enough..... Beware of the Diamond Dogs!

I suspect if it had made me happy, he would have approved.

Yes! (especially if we are going to have the audience remake the sketches of society's break-downs.)
And Yes! :D (He was a free-will kinda guy, exploring and shaping journeys.)

P.S. I still cannot get over his last sung remark, "I've got nothing left to lose," just before his death. I don't think it gets more real and profound than that, as far as I am aware.

Not a movie but I saw a super program last night on PBS TV on Arctic Wolves. I really like these nature programs and Wolves are my favorite animal.
Their life isn't always easy, one starved to death, another was killed by competitor wolf pack, their greatest danger. Another's pups were found by a competitors wolf pack and they killed all her pups.

I saw part of that, too. A good show.

Side A of that album, greatest ever for me. Remember listening to that in '74 and it blew me away.

"Rebel Rebel, you've torn your dress.
Rebel Rebel, your face is a mess.
Rebel Rebel, how could they know?
Hot tramp, I love you so."

"You've torn your dress, your face is a mess
You can't get enough, but enough ain't the test
You've got your transmission and your live wire
You got your cue line and a handful of ludes
You wanna be there when they count up the dudes
And I love your dress
You're a juvenile success
Because your face is a mess
So how could they know?
I said, how could they know?"

I'm sitting hear tearing up, Rufus...turn it up another notch...
