Ford had a similar situation back in their "any color as long as it's black" period, around 1914. Some of their paint was actually midnight blue. It was so dark though, you couldn't distinguish it from black, without placing it right next to something that was truly black.

Ive seen different shades of Brunswick green throughout the years - so it's really hard to say what's a 'correct shade'. To me, the color looks correct to my eye. The flash, lighting & post processing in lightroom all plays a part in how the color comes across

That engine may have been the best example of selective compression Lionel's designers came up (The J and Berk run a very close second). Scale ones look kind of funny if all you're used to seeing in the Lionel version. Match that engine up with some 16" aluminum coaches and you have a very handsome compressed version of the Senator or Congressional that can run on tighter curves and not look silly.

Nice find Chris, enjoy the trains!

This is the third time I started a discussion on Brunswick Green locomotives. Thanks to Chuck's information about the copper-based pigment changing color with time and Christopher's statement about how the model looks right to his eyes and the lighting making the color seen in his photo a little different from reality, plus a statement from an MTJer who no longer posts about the DGLE paint mixed by PRR not being consistent in color from one batch to the next, I no longer am curious about all the different shades of DGLE or Brunswick Green I see in photos. The question is finally resolved in my mind.

Thank you for humoring me again guys.
