Actually, I think those are closed in wood trestles for the mine RR line up on top. Not sure that I've ever seen that done before.....

Perhaps that creek bed floods rapidly at certain times of the year, although why they built the diverters all the way to the top is beyond me.

Now that IS different! Maybe the covered bridge philosophy on steroids? Covered bridges used lesser woods (and paint) to protect the structural members from the weather -was probably easier & cheaper to replace siding or shingles than part of a Howe Truss. I suppose even in this situation it might be easier to keep replacing the sheathing than to repair a trestle bent.

I think I was unclear enough in my statement, that you were unable to apprehend what I was saying. I agree, that if a class was structured as typical college classes tend to be, women would be reticent to sign up. Women have way more than enough problems with physical and sexual abuse on college campuses. Now that we're dealing with sexual harassment, I hope we also address this problem.

I think there's got to be some way to structure and conduct a class, so that women would feel safe.

Actually, it started with the picture of the teacher's college, and my question about where they held the paddling classes. The rubber dominatrix is Rufus's thing. There are many of us who are strictly into spanking, and don't care about BDSM or it's trappings.
