Campaigning costs money, right from the very first lawn sign. How many, please? 100? 1,000? 1million?
So, how does a really good person, a greatly qualified person whom everyone admires , who has no significant disposable income, campaign, beyond simply going door-to-door?

Then, the prospective would-be, self-motivated candidate needs to take inventory, searching for the following capacities in him/herself:
Energy.
Time.
Good health.
Intestinal fortitude , literally .
Ideas.
Creativity.
Education?
Ability to articulate well.
Knowing when to keep mouth closed.
Inventiveness .
Credibility.
Reputation.
Ethics. Morals.
Trustworthiness .
Wardrobe .
Comfortable shoes.
Patience.
Endurance.
Acceptance.
Cheerleaders.
Volunteers.
Copies of registered voters lists . (See County Clerks).
Transportation .
Public standing.
Ability to listen well.
Good memory.
Desire to help others.
Courage.
Tenacity.
Optimism.

You are probably right but how can that be done?
I have almost quit watching any news except local news because of what seems to be bias form all networks. I can't find any national news that
doesn't seem to lean away from truth.

The press has always been a part of elections.

To make such a change would require the elimination of a free press and imposing controls over free speech as well. More changes to the Constitution that will not happen.

I agree. IMO more changes to the Constitution are not needed but maybe some interpretations need adjustment. I dunno.

I think a lot of people just need to read it a few dozen times and stop using it to bolster their personal agendas.
