Can't disagree with you entirely, but you'll notice that the same people you expect to make that change also did not make it when they changed the presidency to 2 terms. Bit of reality check - they are not going to limit themselves out of their own jobs.

And, there is some truth to the notion that it takes a bit of time to fully understand how anything actually does work in DC........and nearly that long to locate the bathrooms.

Pretty sure that Congress does not have absolute power......they just have a lock on keeping their seats.

This is the argument used by Congress to not introduce term limits to themselves stating that if changes was needed, someone else would get elected. And, that was true to a point, but every election now seems bought and paid for.......
