Well, they would be affected by the magma in the Core of the Earth, not by any man-made pollution effect. Of course, if the magma were to swell, we could kiss goodbye, as I mentioned previously, to Yellowstone caldera and life world-wide.

How do volcanoes affect world climate?

There are many reasons that large volcanic eruptions have such far-reaching effects on global climate. First, volcanic eruptions produce major quantities of carbon dioxide (CO2)

Large eruptions can also release huge amounts of particulates that can affect the climate, too. Look up the Krakatoa eruptions of 1883 and closer to home, Mount Pelée in Martinique

Yes. Just specifying further and on particulates. Somewhere I have a very early book that provides an account of the Pelee eruption.

If I got this right, it was mentioned on a news program, a couple weeks ago, that there are thousands of volcanoes active worldwide every day! Thousands.

The definition of "active" is a bit broader than one might imagine - a volcano can be considered "active" if it has erupted in the holocene - that covers the past 12,000 years +/- a recess period.

So, those thousands are not thousands currently erupting today, so just remember that good things come to those that can chill,

Are you sure? I had the impression they meant yesterday. And today, :? i.e. currently; contemporary. That's why I am mentioning it here, because if they had said, "Three are currently active," I'd have believed that readily. But thousands? I took notice and wondered.

Yes, I'm sure. Mt. St. Helens is considered active, but nothing is happening there now.......

Oh Yes, I saw film of them making instant land at the roiling edges of the ocean, just recently.

No land? Then make some! And they did and they found it was good, and people did celebrate, and Lord did grin....

Considering that every inch of all Hawaii is the top of volcanoes, I cannot imagine why anyone would want to buy land and build a housed there. I have seen very graphic film of houses and roadways being incinerated, not too long ago there.

But then again, Japan seems happy with and semi-reconciled to their perch.

I always wonder why people buy property so close to the beach that the beach is changed continually by the sea.
Then the owners complain and sand is brought in from other places to rebuild that same beach that will soon again be washed away.
This seems to be the continual process in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and other states.
Many of the same people have their property destroyed by hurricanes, rebuild in the same place and complain when their house
insurance cost goes up along with their deductible.
"It's so nice on the beach."

I support thread drift.
