I had subscriptions to Trains since 1968, Classic Trains from its start and Classic Toy Trains since the late 1990s. I now go to a bookstore
to see if I might want to buy any of them. I can't be specific but IMHO editorial policies had changed enough that I was losing interest
in them. I have cancelled my subscriptions in the last three years, not all at once, and wrote a note to each mag with some explanation
of why. In the case of Trains it was what I would call a format change. The articles seem to be more like TV programs, two minutes and
change the scene. CTT I held unto the longest because there would be a change that I liked but it wouldn't last. I feel sure that many can
guess that my gripe concerned the lack of articles about "classic" toy trains. No, I am not a writer an expert or collector so I could not
contribute to the mag.
It has been three years since I cancelled Trains and Classic Trains. I still receive almost every other month reduced rate offers to resubscribe.
I also get the same from CTT but that has only been this year. Has their subscriptions fallen so much that this is needed? Maybe a few times
after someone cancels but over and over?
My only subscription now is to O Scale Trains, a mag for two rail modelers.

Yes he's gone, and if you read up on some of the threads, it was a surprise to him and many...so throws out the "retired" aspect of it.

And this one doesn't sound that way some times? Heck, if it wasn't for rumour and innuendo on the AlGore, the internet would not exist.

Suffice it to say, for the purpose of this discussion, and based upon "public" commentary, he did not "retire".

However, he did clear out his railroad stuff a couple of years ago, the Model "A" is on the bock, and effectively he and his wife will, in fact, "retire" to Mexico.

Clambake does not "lay off" folks.

I used to go on MR forum and their Diner daily. Otte moderates with such a heavy hand I was afraid I would get banned from Trains.com and then couldn't go on CTT which I enjoy.

Received October 2017 MR. Miller introduces himself in from the editor but not a single word about Besougloff. Not a word anywhere in the whole issue that I could find. Like he never even existed. Never mind why he was gone. Strange, to say the least. To the point of being creepy, to say a bit more.

Putting up with MR's patronizing attitude to 3-rail O Scale is bad enough. Didn't know Besougloff but don't like seeing employees treated like this. Plus it's rude to the readers. Canceled MR subscription.

I liked OGR mag better before Mr. Miller but he has been there for some time now and OGR has more pages and advertisers than CTT.
Som advertisers that left have returned. Of course this may be because they are more unhappy with CTT than OGR and do need to
advertise. IMHO the only thing CTT has is Roger Carp and I say that because of his interest in the play value of toy trains and his
inerest in post-war stuff.

I am perplexed as why O scale modelers cut from any cloth care about the goings on at MR. It's effectively limited to HO and to be a monthly advertising platform and very little else. There are O scale publications that fill the needs and interests of O scale modelers. Perhaps supporting those is for the best.
