About $125 too high in price. Blinded 2nd and 3rd drivers. Boiler runs up hill from cab. Pornographic, as in NO redeeming social features. Now that we have discussed the good points..........

That refers to the point that you can push it on track or on a surface and have it roll smoothly w/o binding or other hiccups; pretty standard test to see if anything is binding, grabbing, etc. and correct that deficiency prior to installing and connecting up to a motor. & gearbox.

The mechanism might have some value to someone somewhere..........someone liked one of his other listings.

Maybe, but not $125 worth. Hold out for Lobaugh if you want to pay that much for a mechanism. I looked at his other doorstop offering - same reaction: Yuk!

I see I must be rubbing off on you boys.
Bob, you need to buy that and remove the sand dome...you can use it as a hanger at the airstrip.
Not sure if the all weather cab is salvageable until one sees it and measures it.
Drivers were blind on the SC Mountain.
The main worm gear has me puzzled...they are Phenolic, hold oil like nothing else, but the look like printed circuit boards....and I though the teeth were coarser. This one is black, like Delrin.
Missing pieces, like everything....handrails and stanchions, headlight, all the valve gear, bell, whistle, steam dome, piping, nothing there.
As far as free-rolling, yes, supposed to. When you build a kit, it had better be free rolling before you drop in the worm...quartering, rough bearings, front crankpin hitting back side of crosshead guides.

But that begs the question..if it free rolls, where is the worm? No parts, and now the "winner" gets to find a worm to match the worm gear. Bets are the worm and motor mount and shaft is not there, either.
No tender.

If it had all the parts, AND the original boiler and cab, maybe 125..delivered...and put it back the way it was designed.

I agree. But he means the SP boiler and associated parts, and the valve gear, and it would have to have Scale Craft gears.
