Nice car, good price. Lionel has been using the flat wheel sets for a while on the "scale" equipment. I'm not sure about the O-27 since I haven't bought any in a while. You also got the hidden uncoupler tab (no thumbtack).

Nice car. Can't beat the price. Wish that was really the catalog price. The 75$ seems a bit much for a freight car. I pick up almost all of my stuff on the used market these days. The prices for new are just insane

Glad to see the flat treaded wheels are back. Do they turn on the axle, like postwar, or are one or both fixed to the axle? Also, do the axles still have the needlepoint bearings?

I know they are very low friction, aka they will spin for quite a while when spun. I didn't try to take the truck apart but they look like the new design needle point axles.

So, do the coupler baseplates wrap around the axles, like the old postwar ones did? That should add even more friction, since the postwar axles didn't turn.

I'll look at it when I get home tonight. Pretty sure the only contact point is with the Delrin pockets in the truck side castings. The trucks have working springs and I believe the stuff you are seeing in the photo is a "frame" to support the uncoupler pad on the bottom. I'm pretty sure the axles just pass tough, no contact.

No, Roy, they are much improved and hang from the frame, not touching the axles.
