What will be saved for the next version of the PRR Panhandle:
  • Switches (switch machines, pushbuttons)
  • Track and Vinylbed roadbed
  • Electrical hardware (wire looms, terminal strips, screws)
  • Buildings / structures
  • Benchwork hardware (screws, supports, glides, bolts, etc.)
  • Transformer cart

What will definitely NOT be saved:
  • Benchwork lumber
  • Wiring distribution panels
  • Foam

Probably most of the wiring will be discarded. We'll see how that pans out.

George

See now, if you had just gone with DCS, you could keep your layout where it is and run weefeeking engines with your video monitor and keyboard from your new location. It's all in volume 3 of the BOOK.

Yeah, what was I thinking?

Actually, I'm waiting for the version of DCS that supports VR (virtual reality). That's even better than wi-fi.

I've got it on pre-order.

Actually, that thought about a DCS pre-order reminded me of this. Trivia Question: Anybody remember where it came from?

Full marks, Rufus! That's one of my favorite movies. Haven't seen it in forever, though.

The black one with "Laugh while you can monkey boy" on the back?

I had one as a teen and a couple of years ago found someone was making them again. I wore it to a Boeing space capsule engineering meeting and I got a lot of handshakes and slaps on the back from the people really making stuff that's going into space. Many of them were fans of the movie and a lot of them wanted a shirt like that!

It took over 4 months to get the one I have - I'm not going back there for a shirt, even with a working overthruster.....
