I couldn't tell if the boy was happy or in pain.Seems to be a cold snowy day
and the sleeves and legs on those overalls look a little short.

Yes, he does seem to have outgrown those a bit....a tad of a pudge, too,

I really didn't know if it was boy or girl but Rufus says boy and it's his picture.
I didn't want to cause him to take his pictures and go home as some have in the past when someone disagreed.

It was sold as a boy, but I wonder......

Eh, boy or girl, it doesn't matter - it's an adorable li'l kid who is standing in front of some really cool old wood stuff. We can only hope that child had a safe and wonderful life, full of joy, nice friends and a loving family. Like that aged wood, it all fades away and is over far too soon.

In old photos of that circa, I have yet to see a smiling female, not even a trace of a contented moment. Maybe all that fabric, layered on, during the warmer months, made them cranky?

And the ladies, they rolled their eyes"

Hey Murph, didja also notice we never see any fat men like me!! Maybe they didn't have all the goodies we have, and I'm pretty sure bakin' pies in a woodburning stove wasn't a favorite pass time, or watin' for a hail storm to get ice to make ice cream.

I sometimes think, oh yes I do, that we don't realize how much these old photos add to the enjoyment of model railroading, playing with trains or what ever you want to call it. I model a very broad time span that covers a period from @1940 to present. These photos show the way "it" was and how "it"
hasn't changed all that much.
I hope that Rufus and others like him, oh I know there are no others like him, that post the old photos are able to do that the rest of my life. I may be between 30 and 50 years to young to have direct knowledge but knew some that took part in events from those eras.I knew WW II veterans and heard them talk about it,I even knew two Spanish-American War vets. The Viet Nam vets are even quickly becoming fewer. Without getting into the politics of that era remember that those that participated took part in the evolution of our country.
When I meet a person in the uniform of the armed services of our country or a vet with mention of the service in which they participated I give them my sincere thank you.

Hi Mitch, The picture I have of you in my mind, from being in your company at the Tractor-pull, does not include that image. You seemed vital, limber, and energetic, and definitely not overweight. :D Murph
