Wayne, exactly what I wanted! Cool, eh?

I must admit that I do not understand the posts just above.
I do think that is a cool picture that Wayne posted.
It looks to me that it would look the same if inverted.
Somebody " 'splain-a-me" please.

Roger,

Tramp wrote:Tramp as joined the dead guys and gals: http://www.amy-nyc.com/artists

Also, the gallery is taking him and Daisy out to Morimoto. Okay, Wayne, do your magic!

Cheers, hobos!

The artist's image in the amy-nyc link is of a room with a mirror, the room "mirror imaged" about the mirror such that the ceiling appears mirror imaged at the bottom half of the picture. When the artist said, "Wayne, do your magic" I thought he might want me to do a mirror image.

Then, the artist mentions Morimoto. Perhaps he means I should locate Morimoto Restaurant. There are seven Morimoto restaurants around the globe. Most likely he is going to the one at Chelsea Market, 88 10th Ave, New York, NY. To bad if that is the one. It was designed by Tadao Ando using bare concrete motif and has a ‘bottle wall’, made from 17,400 half liter plastic bottles filled with mineral water and an LED light in each one... boring and amateurish.

The mirror image I posted that "would look the same if inverted" is from a photo taken inside the Morimoto at 723 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA. The Philadelphia Morimoto was designed by Karim Rashid and the interior is a magnificent piece of kinetic light sculpture. Eating there is equivalent to dining inside a piece of art. I liked the blue glass partitions between seating booths. These partitions change color as you eat.

Wayne, you ruined my day! I thought I was going to the one you pictured. Oh, well, I hope the food is good. Can you put up a picture of the one near the gallery?

I wrote this story over ten years ago:

The almost dusky room had a fountain at its center, a reproduction of a famous sculpture hulking in the spraying mist. He couldn’t think of the artist but knew she would. Red-lit miniature waterfalls ran from more than one rough stone wall. It only made him think of lava. Then he saw that the illumination of the water was gradually changing to violet.
“Did you see that?”
“What?”
“All the water changed color.”
“That’s why they named this the Prism Room. That’s why I wanted to be seated here. Lovely isn’t it?”
It had changed to purple by then. “Very unusual.”
Suddenly she leaned forward. “I’m sorry I’ve been cranky. I really am touched you've taken me here. I really do think this place is fantastic. I mean look at it.” Her eyes rounded the space, her lips parting. “Everything was designed by Gecko, even the silverware. All the linens were precisely hand-dyed to his pigments. I’m sure the food will be celestial. See? The table changes color as well.”
He looked down and saw that it was true, though the glass was so opaque he hadn’t noticed it as illuminated. “How do you know all that?”
“Online? Do you have any idea how famous this restaurant is?”
“I can guess by the prices.”
“Your menu has prices?” She adjusted her loose blonde curls with a shudder. “My, how gauche! Let’s leave. We can’t possibly put up with that kind of insult. Talk about no taste.”
She was watching him, but he wasn’t sure how to react.
She reached over and touched his hand, allowing her little finger to move between his with the slow sensual flick of a cat’s tail. “Let’s have a wonderful time, okay?”
“I have a surprise for you.” He regretted saying it, but she continued to unsettle him. He’d repeatedly wondered if that wasn’t the basis of his inexorable attraction for her, her quantum looks aside.
“You do?” she said.
“Nothing much, actually. Just a small something when we get home.”
She smiled. “You really are amazingly generous.”
He was pleased with himself; he’d covered well. He raised his hand for one of the waiters who seemed to arrive before he’d actually moved it.

Not to me, I don't appreciate the "bare concrete and rice paper" look.

Another architectural look do I not like is the "weathered architecture" look.

Weathered Architecture  It's rust!

I shall have to keep this in mind the next time I am in Philly. Maybe a change from a cheesesteak would be a good thing,

Okay, what can you tell me about this?

Wayne, you didn't need to remove the Mirrored Room image. Do you like the new series? There is something very bizarre about it that once you discovered it, you would love. It has to do with the conditioning and filtering of our brains. Any guesses?

The turntable and roundhouse are the work of laidoffsick. Tte one you show he posted on OGR. He shares a few of his images with us on MTJ. I think he does really nice work. Oh--and I do like his concrete roundhouse, especially with the brickwork contrasting against the simplicity of bare concrete.

A mirror image is reversed, left is right and right is left. Most of the time we do not even notice, unless we try to read writing in the image. Your new series does not show the mirror image reversed. I find that a bit disconcerting because it is not what I am used to in a mirror image. Despite the mirror image upsetting my mind, I do like the new series. I spend a bit of time trying to figure out what was wrong. When I reversed the bottom half to be like what I would see in a mirror image I discovered you did the mirror part completely using your artistic skills, no photography tricks used. Clue was the window frames did not line up exactly when I rotate the bottom half about the mirror in the image. You reversed the image in your head.

Our written language is printed left to right. Arabic is printed right to left. I wonder if an Arabic trained mind could read English printing in the mirror?

Better pay off your credit card before you go in, there are no prices on the menu.
And reserve a table at least a day in advance this week. Longer advance on holidays.

My credit card is always paid off; I am unconcerned.

A day in advance? Surprised. That's actually rather short notice....but then that works even better for me.

Good for you Rufus. I should not have been concerned that you might have thought it was like JJ’s Cheesesteaks.

So tell me Rufus. Does the Philly Cheesesteak at Pat's come with cheese that'll string out all gooey when ya take a bite, and is there grease drippin' off the grilled onions. If not, I'll pass!
