That should fit in real well in the Steubenville area.
Remember this was Dean Martin's hometown amongst other things.
It wouldn't be that clean because of the pollution from the mills and mines.
Oh, wait. It's all cleaned up now since the mills and mines are closed.

Actually Steubenville is (in)famous for being the hometown of several "celebrities":

- As mentioned, it was Dean Martin's hometown (By the way, my father knew him when he tended a bar and ran numbers in his youth).
- It is also Edwin Stanton's hometown (Lincoln's secretary of war).

I'm coming up for York...I was going to pass this time but a friend of mine said he wants to join TCA and also see what York is like, so I agreed to haul him up there. I can usually do York in three or four hours, but this guy's a plodder, so it might be an all-day ordeal.

Never been to the 2-rail meet, but I've heard you, Rufus and Sarge talk about it. What's the date?

My dad told of when he worked in Manhattan (lower East Side), he would take the train to Boston, toss a briefcase up in the parcel rack, go to the club car, and play cards for most of the trip. He said that the briefcase was full of money and he packed a .45 Colt. I wish now that I had asked a lot more about that. The subject came up as I was telling him about my Navy training on the .45 auto. Not that much fun to shoot; at least the worn out Navy one. Although I did prefer it to a 9mmLuger.

Back to model railroading...

I removed backdrop 3.5 last night in preparation for the artist's visit on Saturday. Will pull Backdrop #2 tonight.

The artist and I had a very fruitful working session today:

• The artist adjusted Backdrops 2 & 3 so that the hills and ridges lined up.
• I determined the correct length of Backdrop 2.
• After several measurements, I determined the correct length of Backdrop 4.
• The artist drew the ridge line for Backdrop 4; it lines up with Backdrop 3 correctly.

Here's Backdrop 2. Note the line at the bottom - it will be cut there. There is also a hole for trains from the Passing Siding to meet the Mainline at Switch No. 3.

Backdrop 4 is just being roughed-out. Note that it has been elevated to the correct height relative to Backdrop 3.
