The Bently is, I am sure, a fantastic machine.
But it sure is ugly.
Those shown after it are much nicer to look at.
Of course that is just my opinion that is worth
exactly NOTHING especially at a car show. :D :D

Look at that brute again. That Bentley is gorgeous, mate!

Meanwhile, my badness.

Not my car, but I do have to admit having a tiny little something to do with it finding a new home, perhaps? :D

Perhaps you'd be happier with the new Bentley SUV. A cool quarter mil will get you one.

It's a '79 (last year of production like my blue one) and has been asleep for some years.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, no doubt, so I have to say I think that Bentley is fabulous. It's cool how the trunk is actually a trunk. And may I conclude that the lidded box as a step-up into the backseat is the car's toolbox? Cool, again.

I'd give an arm to have that car, but probably couldn't drive the Bentley without it. :?

You would need to move to England so you don't park on the wrong side of the street and get a ticket.

I suspect that when those Bentleys are driven in England everyone moves off the roadway and bows in respect. I have seen a cartoon from Punch depicting that. Very similar looking earlier versions of this car won LeMans a couple of times in the 30s.

Noteworthy are the leather covered wooden body aft of the firewall and the size of these things-it towers over the other sports cars displayed with it.

Looks almost more like the classic postwar hotrod. That's a nice car.

Not my field, but the imagination and fun that used to be the 60's era hotrods we built as Monogram kits is back in the rat-rod movement.

My own outsider's opinion, of course, but rods became too artsy, perfect, and predictable during that period when I was in the Army. They went from Ed Roth wild-and-crazyness to Foose buy-and-bolt sameness.

The rat-rod people are a healthy shakeup in that world, much like the survivor guys in the classics world. Some of those cars are wonderfully bizarre, especially the lunatics who combine rat-rod technique with "steam-punk" design.

Yesterday in the church parking lot was a beautifully restored 46 47 or 48 two door Cadillac. It was a low rider but was completely original just lowered.
I'm old so I must have seen old Cadillacs like this before but not for a long time and I don't remember it.
I had my tablet with me but didn't think to take a picture and I don't know how to post pictures anyway.

A rat rod is not something built in a shop or garage. It's something built over time and many trips. Almost like a hobo it takes a piece from each of it's adventures.
