Over the many years I squandered slowly bringing the Sprite back from the brink (while maintaining a number of other money-pits) I occasionally, in a fit of frustration, threatened to just drag it into the front yard, shovel dirt into it and make a planter out of it.

Well, sadly I wasn't alone in that line of thought:

Interesting convergence of thought,

Wonder how many more are functioning as garden fixtures now....

Oh, it is to weep!

You better go quick round the corner where you saw that Morris you showed us before it suffers a similar unnecessary fate.

The Dark Lord (Lucas) has a special place for those who would do such a thing! An effing planter.

Jesus wept!

We'll have to beat the flared fenders out and weld some sheet metal over the hood-scoop on that Minor, Sarge.

Drove down to Federal Hill a couple of weeks ago to drop off a chair I'd refinished for my nephew. I saw this corner beer-joint...liked the name:

Handy when asked "Where were you last night?".

Wandering around the hobo jungle at night can be hazardous. I had a flashlight, but it was aimed at the ground, as were my eyes. Suddenly I felt my face being wrapped in a spider web.

I hate it when that happens.

Especially when you are eye to eye with the spider.

Needed a break for mind and soul, so I fired up Piddles the MGB and went for an afternoon's ride, dodging storms whilst running the B-roads along the ridges that form the borders of Adams County apple country:

A little "fifty through the twisties". Not too many single-centreline roads left, but we have them here in spades.

Through a little settlement of no name...

...headed down-hill between a lovely old Pennsylvania farmhouse and bank-barn...

Image

...and more lovely twisty bits. The apples are ripening, and the harvest is just starting.

Image

In the mirror you can see a forklift working the apple boxes. Meanwhile out the side a ridge-spawned thunderstorm to duck around.

Lovely route along the ridgelines, stayed dry, and the mind relaxes...

:D

Grass right to the edge of the Macadam. That is rare and lovely. Thanks, Sarge.

Sarge,

I have never been sure what this means, , but I take it to be green with envy.

If so,                             .

Sarge, looks like all you were missing was Dennis Jenkinson scrolling the map and signalling "right hander, 3rd gear, 4000 rpm".
You begin flying with a full bag of luck and an empty bag for experience. The object is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

John:

I'm certainly no Sterling Moss!

I'd bet you'd love the B-roads here. Just exploring them and laying out routes for an evening's decompression has been a lovely summer's activity.

Pop over to Roxbury and then grab 641 over the Timmens to Spring Run someday. I'll meet you there for dinner.
