They don't know what a typewriter even is,

That's so true. I watched a young girl sit down in front of her grandpa's typewriter and exclaim, "Where's the screen!?!"

Does anyone else here think this NASA photo of the Man in the Moon showing his backside to a satellite in front of a bright and shinning Mother Earth a hoax? If not, show me how.

Not seeing it. Just a clip of the dark side of the moon...... I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.....

So it goes...

Why should this be faked by anyone?

Roger,
It wasn't.
What happened was that either my local TV reporter called it the "dark side of the moon" or I read that that way. And, that is what my brain fixated on...the dark side of the moon. The picture / video in question is in fact the moon passing between the satellite and the earth. What is being seen by the satellite is the "far side of the moon" from earth. It is indeed fully lit by the sun. The fact that it appears gray is because the earth reflects much more light than the moon. If you happened to watch a certain two episodes (one about color, the other about perception) of the TV show "Brain Games" all of this would have made more sense and I should have remembered that and known better. Anyway, be comforted that all is right with the world and the sky isn't going to fall... at least not any time soon.

OK. I just couldn't think of any good reason to fake it.
I thought it was pretty cool to see it like that.
Has it been shown this way before?

Here is the answer given to me:
"The Moon's albedo is actually rather low. The picture there shows both bodies in almost full-on sunlight, but against Earth's albedo of 0.367 the Moon (albedo 0.136) is rather dim. It appears bright in the night sky because our eyes adapt and it's by far the brightest object there."

Now that we have been sufficiently mooned  back to our regularly scheduled material!

A wise person once said:

1. We all love to spend money buying new clothes but we never realize that the best moments in life are enjoyed without clothes.

2. Having a cold drink on a hot day with a few friends is nice, but having a hot friend on a cold night after a few drinks - PRICELESS.

3. Breaking News: Condoms don't guarantee safe sex anymore. A friend of mine was wearing one when he was shot dead by the woman's husband.

4. Arguing over a girl's bust size is like choosing between Molson, Heineken, Carlsberg, & Budweiser. Men may state their preferences, but will grab whatever is available.

AND

5. I haven't verified this on Snopes, but it sounds legit. A recent study found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it.

Any married man can verify that for you or you can just ask your Father......unless he's been mentioning it to your Mother.

Sun City Police Call

A police officer called the station on his radio.

"I have an interesting case here. An old lady shot her husband for stepping on the floor she just mopped."

"Have you arrested the woman?"

"Not yet. The floor's still wet."
