Jon, I couldn't agree more. I have a project this winter as well. I'm finally going to build a big steam water tower. Always wanted one.

Really great modeling and photos from you fellows.

Happy New Year to all hobos!

Well, in that spirit, I post these photos for the good ol' hobos to see of one of my very favorite scenes I ever did. I have no idea why it is such a favorite, but it is. I enjoyed crafting it thoroughly. The figures, including those beautifully articulated, fully saddled horses, are from Roy Bakers Railroad Shop , the cabin kit is from Valley Model Trains (I have no idea if they have any more,) and if you are going to be "inspired" to do such a scene, ya' can't be tight with the foliage, (Scenic Express, exclusively)pour it on (just like Ma Nature does), one of my trademarks, I guess you could say.

So, here's to a happy and safe close to 2014 to all of you and my best wishes for your prosperity, safety, and good health throughout 2015 Happy New Year! :D

Really, really nice Murph. Love the VW microbus...I always wanted a VW camper (Westfalia). The trees, as always, are great...would love to learn how to do that some day.

Happy New Year everyone...

The Super Sage and Super Tree kits from Scenic Express make very nice trees that can rival any ready made tree
and be cheaper. Many layouts have trees that are too small and you can make all sizes from the kits. Ready made
trees that are 12" tall represent 48' in O gauge and can cost $20.00= per tree. I made most of the trees on my
layout from various materials and was most satisfied with the Super Sage kits.
Scenic Express has free catalogs and can be found on line at www.scenicexpress.com.
Hmmm.Sure sounds like a sales pitch for Scenic Express. Did I mention that they also have quick service?
    Obviously I have been pleased with them.

And I would add to that assessment that Jim Elster (proprietor) is known for being a standup guy, a gentleman, and a businessman who has stood behind what he sells 100 o/o , doing so consistently for the 20 yrs. I have been buying from him and enjoying his company.

As 2014 comes to a quick and precarious end...

... may the New Year continue to bring hobos together...

... and in 2015, may all your roads be wide and open

Sh*t.

Drank some of 2railjon's home-brewed Mississippi moonshine last night to celebrate the New Year.

Went to bed, had a horrifying nightmare...

They're just coming to make sure you still remember your times-tables.
Is your spelling still sharp?
