Under the blue desert sky where the white Ibera
With the cactus entwine together
Along the road bank covered with flowers laughing in the morning
Let us descend together!

The local nursery calls this, "Candytuft Iberis." (Iberis sempervirens)
It is supposed to bloom in spring and early summer.
Not in Tucson, nurseries sell it as a winter flower here.
In the summer they get fried to a crisp, then return from seed in the winter, everywhere but where you want them.
A recent winter rain caused this one to come up from seed, out by the road.

Edit 1: everwhere changed to everywhere.

Ahhhh,Wayne. The ladies made a lovely performance seem to be rather easy.

The kid playing the pink piano knows he is good.

I must thank Wayne and Martin, and others that I have forgotten,
for bringing many memories back to me. A fault that I may have now
since my teaching, playing and conducting career and way of life is
over is that I seldom find fault with performances. I had to for a long
time and now I just enjoy performances, even when they are not perfect.

More please.

Well, if you are not going to be fussy... I am amused when anyone tries to play this tuba=> http://youtu.be/JNKXIFuApLI
I haven't found a good performance on it yet.

On the other hand, here is a young lady with a fantastic tuba performance=> http://youtu.be/LkTNTSOqtyA
Whew, William Kraft Encounters 2 for solo tuba takes a lot of air. I'll bet she could blow the piston right out of a spirometer.

IMHO Ms. McDonald is quite talented. Some of the comments about her performance are ridiculous.

The guy playing the bigun is just making noise that can be made on a hollow tube.
I wonder if that horn is playable in a real sense.

Did you see the link to Derek Fenstermacher trying to play the big tuba? He manages some fundamental notes.=> http://youtu.be/OK1GDkvFdL4

Wayne,

Yes, this guy does play some actual notes.
The one above played by Steve is NOT the same instrument.

There are a few Big Tubas in the world. It looks like they are all designed for two players or one giant player with really long arms.

So there are at least three big tubas.
I think the Conn company in the US also once had a very large tuba.
They are all manufacturing gimmicks of no practical use.
As BT says "Opinion".

I found it, I found it, I found it!!! :D A subcontrabass tuba being played in concert.=> http://youtu.be/wJFv59NFvIU
I liked that so much, I downloaded the mp3 file from Amazon. I know Neil Young says mp3 files sound awful, but the downloaded mp3 sounds a whole lot better than YouTube. I can only imagine what such a tuba sounds like in person.

I had forgotten the Hoffnung concerts. They would do it.
The piece played was by a well known English composer.
Recordings of the Hoffnung concerts were rather popular then.
