Might not be that unique  Here's another that is much closer to you, Tramp.

From my youth it was a trip down the New Haven from Pittsfield into Connecticut, specifically Canaan and the Canaan Union Depot.

It was built at the crossing of the old Central New England and the Housatonic, both of which folded into New Haven.

If anything, the architecture is even cooler (as a matter of regional opinion perhaps :D ):

It's been apparently done as a kit in HO...

and still is with us in restored form today.

Yes, the Donuts & Bakery image titled "Day" on the Temple Clock.

You are right, comparing an artist's work with Google Streets images is interesting.

Or old photos compared with Google Streets images.

Earlier this year I bicycled downtown to see how the trolley project fiasco was doing. While there I looked through the windows of the Navajo Indian Trading Post. The building was abandoned.

I agree on the assessment of fireplaces sucking as much heat out the room through the chimney as adding, but they sure are great anyway,

That's why the accepted science these days suggests providing outside make-up air, brought into the firebox via a duct. The warm room air stays there (pretty much) and the firebox does its thing by radiating heat back into the room.

Just buried another dog on Monday. We had Quincy for about 8 years, and 'tho he had lumps all over him, the vet said they were fat lumps that moved easily, and therefore were not a danger. But in a period of about 2 months, man, he started going downhill fast. Vet said heart condition, and put him on Lasix for excessive fluid around the heart, but his breathing was gettin' labored and then last week it got to where he was having a lot of trouble swallowing. Lost about 14 lbs. in two weeks. Sunday, he couldn't eat anymore and could barely drink water, so Monday we had to put him down. Now, the only dog we have is Junior's Rottweiler, and tho' he's not a bad dog, he's not our dog. Sooooo.......

Ya might have heard on the national news that some lady's Great Dane had 19 puppies, here in Pennsylvania. The wife called her. All 19 are healthy, but she's adamant on $850 per pup. We won't be gettin' another Dane from her!! The wife wants a Harlequin, and I'm partial to a Blue Merle or another Brindle, but we could end up with another Black/White like Sampson. Who knows. Christmas is comin'! :)

Sorry to hear that Mitch...tough thing about dogs, they don't hang around nearly long enough. Hope you find a good pup and gather some new memories.

This hobo has resurrected his Falcon column. Here's wishing all you hobos a wonderful Thanksgiving. This thread started then, so long ago. Cheers and good winter: http://www.penbaypilot.com/article/perf ... imbs/44448

Thank you Tramp. Those PENOBSCOT FALCON articles are a joy to read, this one being no exception.

In fact it moved me to try poetry...

when lupins arise
lilac will surprise
like a phoenix
it will rise

Ohhh, that is really bad. :( No talent.

I better go back to my LED lighting thread where I have a minuscule talent.

Tramp,

Would/could you give us a link each time you have a new article?
They have always been enjoyable.

If I'm not mistaken this is the 10th anniversary of the Jungle. 10 years ago today. Lots has changed, hasn't it?

Here's a what is it. What railroads are represented in the models on the bookcase? This is a detail from my latest colored-pencil Time Diptych drawing.

130 dumb xxxx protesters got arrested in downtown LA last night. Now they get to spend not only Thanksgiving in jail but the weekend too unless they can come up with the $500 bail.
