Updated 8/21/2014:

I am in the process of updating my RR-Track plan for the layout. Awhile back (last year?) I re-aligned the grade (lessened it) at the eastern side of the double track bridge. The actual track was changed and improved, but I never updated the track plan. With the removal of the double cross-over, I am redrawing the track plan to incorporate both that change and the improvements. I find myself in the odd position of having to update the plan from the actual track.

Awesome , George. But why did OGR see it first? Perhaps you don't like us anymore?

Not at all, John. I just didn't know how to put a video up on this forum or if it would support such a large file. And I was pretty excited about this last night. I've been waiting awhile for this to be right.

Updated 9/3/2014:

i got this poster awhile ago, maybe 2-3 years back at a train show. I can't even remember where - might have been the O Scale show at Strasburg. Last night I was looking through my e-mail and realized I had a 40% discount coupon for AC Moore and that they had a bunch of frames on sale. Now usually, the stuff I have for framing is an odd size and requires some custom (read expensive) frame. I measured the poster and went to the store today. Here's the result - instant education for train runners!

Nice.

Moores and Hobby Lobby both seem to have ads in our local [Savannah] Sunday ad pa, oops, newspaper that offer 40% or 50% off every week.
Maybe Michaels also.

I like the traffic lights George. Can't wait to see them in place on the layout.

Roger, I find a fair number of useful things in AC Moore. But the trick is to sign up on-line for their coupons. Otherwise, their stuff is way overpriced. I never buy anything in there without a coupon.

Me neither, Andy. I am making slow (I mean S L O W) progress getting the train room and workshop back into useful condition after absorbing some of my father's tools. I have also been clearing out a bunch of my older son's junk. I've got a lot of things to do before that bridge arrives in mid-October:
  • Design, cast, assemble, and paint bridge piers.
  • Find, order, and have cut 1/8" plexiglass sheet for the Ohio River's surface. The size is problematic.
  • Get the river backdrop painted; a friend is doing the actual painting, but I've got to describe what I want and how it needs to look.

That's a lot to do, along with the clean-up and organization of the basement. Realistically, that means the traffic lights and the City of Weirton module and Crawford's Crossing are on the back burner for the time being. But that's not a long way away, as I am planning an operating session for January and would like to have those lights operational for it.

I guess this post could be called "Bad kitty visits the PRR Panhandle".

Her Orangeness, Pumpkin, decided to assert her authority over her domain in a visit this morning. I have no idea how she got her fat self up there. Fortunately, the camera was nearby.

Here she is inspecting one of my scratch-built ingot cars. Since she is, by definition, inscrutable, I have no idea what she thought of it.
