WOW!
How strong are the winds?
Other than spreading dirt what kind of damages result?
Does a lot of stuff need to be repainted?
What damage to people?ETC.
Where was the photo taken?
No damage, winds mild, slow moving dust, piles up on cars, makes you dirty if you are outside, finds ways to get in the house, yuck.
A haboob starts with rain in the desert. Because of hot dry air, the rain evaporates before it reaches the ground, but produces cool heavy dense air that accelerates down to the dry desert.

When the wind hits the desert it stirs up the dust. The dust traveles away from the site at a slow pace.

The one in the photo was in Phoenix again, they seem to be having an unprecedented number of these dust storms this year. This haboob was 6o miles long and 3000 feet high. Eventually the wind at the source stopped and dust settled on everything.

Edit 1: added "before it reaches the ground" after "evaporates".
Edit 2: Second image: Was, "sturring"; is, "stirring".
