I have a plan. When I get up off my lazy deadass, I'll post pics.

CERN already demonstrated that sets up conditions whereby a naked singularity is formed.

Probably not a situation for the average modeler, but it will be covered in the next edition of Barry's book.

Updated 7/29/2014:

Got an e-mail from the traffic light maker - the controller has been fixed and should be back on its way to me shortly.

In the meantime, here's a shot of one of the traffic lights.

You should see them operate! They cycle through GREEN-YELLOW-RED beautifully, each street in turn. Very sharp. :!: :!:

I'm really hoping I can get some free space and time to concentrate on the city of Weirton module. I feel the need to do something!

When this is in a working state, I'm going to try making a video and posting it.

Updated 8/2/2014:

Today's news is a mixed bag.
  • Got another version of the controller from the traffic light maker. Unfortunately it is still exhibiting the same problem, so we are not ready for prime time there yet.
  • Got the drawings and quote for the PRR Bridge. Sides will be covered to reflect the prototype's appearance and it will be painted a flat black. Delivery to take place at Fall York. I cut the deposit check! :!:
  • The basement, which had been full of kids' stuff when the eldest moved back in, is slowly being emptied now that he has moved out again. I'm hoping it will soon be clear enough to resume module construction. This has been largest single impediment to progress on the City of Weirton module.

I am really looking forward to next week's O Scale meet in Strasburg, PA and the start of the fall train season.

I'm not really sure, but the maker is working the problem. One of the lights doesn't cycle correctly. Pretty sure he'll figure it out.

The problem moves from light to light, so it's in the controller.

Updated 8/16/2014:

Major changes are planned for the PRR Panhandle:

As I said in a previous post, the deposit for the PRR double track bridge has been sent. Delivery is anticipated for Fall York.

Earlier this week, an agreement to sell the Curtis double cross-over (positioned on the temporary bridge) was reached. Yesterday, I removed the double cross-over, assembled all the instructions and components that will accompany it, and constructed a box for it.

I also removed the temporary bridge (see photos). First picture shows the bridge without track.

Second photo shows the removal of the bridge.

Preparations for this area will include:
  • Planning and construction of the two bridge piers.
  • Planning and construction of the two end-point mounts for the bridge. In all, 8 Aeul bridge feet will be required.
  • Painting and installation of a backdrop to hide the passing siding. Apparently I am going to become a landscape painter
  • Procurement of 6 slow red flashing LEDs for the bridge (4) and the fronts of the piers (2).

George

I am pumped because this long-awaited bridge is finally becoming reality! :D :!: :!: :!: :!:
