She was the one who told them to replace the bumper. I objected, but she wasn't listening.
I would not be surprised if they aligned the old bumper rather than replacing it. I could not
tell if it was new or not, the old one had no identifying bumps, dents, marks or scratches.

Ok, Wayne, I've got it now. The insurance company cuts the check and the body shop and the adjuster split the cash. Probably happens every few minutes throughout the U.S.

Watch out Jon...we looked at this guy while working the Montauk Project. His equipment is based on wormhole theory and uses a platinum/xenon propulsion unit. His calculations have never properly accounted for gravity, so its pretty high risk.

Now there's a guy in Iowa who's working with tachyons...I'd jump at the chance to venture out with him...

No no no!

If I'm going time-travelling, I'm going with this guy. He knows what he's doing!

Did they adopt us, or did we adopt them?

With the ninety-plus degree temperature and high humidity today, my daughter and I decided to drive up into the mountains to look for some cooler air. We headed up to old Pen Mar Park northeast of Hagerstown, Maryland, sitting up on South Mountain almost on the Mason-Dixon line. Pen Mar Park was the creation of the Western Maryland Railroad, opening in 1877 and closing in 1943. It was quite the place back in the day. At one time it featured a hotel, an amusement park, a scenic overlook, train station, and various other amenities. Today there's not much left...they rebuilt the overlook, built a multi-purpose pavilion, and there's a small museum with pictures and memorabilia from the original park.

Here's the rebuilt overlook:

The Appalachian Trail cuts through the park just behind the overlook. That's 1,080 miles to Tramp's place, and 920 miles to Roger's.

Just up the road is High Rock:

Crazy people hang-glide off of High Rock:

Hope you guys are staying cool, wherever...

Nice views,in several ways.

That type of view is something that can be seen in the north that I do miss in southeast Georgia.
Hard to look out over a view when it is so flat.

Point taken...

I found this pic of the miniature railroad (equipment) that ran at Pen Mar. My father remembered riding the miniature railroad during his visits to the park during the 1930's, and he told me the carousel was pretty nice as well:

My understanding is that the Pen Mar carousel was sold after the park closed, to a guy that moved it to Willits, Alaska. Before it was sold, the owner of Pen Mar removed a number of the standers and had them installed on the carousel at Forest Park in Hanover, PA. When Forest Park closed in the 1960's, the carousel was sold to Astroworld in Houston, TX, which was subsequently acquired by Six Flags. It is my understanding that the Forest Park carousel, with its seven or eight Pen Mar standers, is still in service at the Six Flags park in Houston.
