Too moody for a beautifull 74 degree sunrise in the Sonoran Desert. Here is a lighter version. http://youtu.be/nuddNXkCVCc

Later this summer, as the temperature passes 110, I'll listen to the Wall of Voodoo again. The guitar in Voodoo's Ring of Fire is perfect for how 117 with no breeze feels.

We'll be lucky to reach anything near 74 today, but that guitar work does fit with 117,

8) Love that bike. 8)

Here's an enlargement of the tank, which unfortunately degrades the image, but shows the cool paint job. I love the 'shadow' that gives the illusion of the flames floating off the surface of the tank. Sweet!

Dirt, pretty much a stock 80 Evo with a Woods W6 cam, Mikuni HSR42 carb, and solid lifters.

Jon, probably doubled your horsepower, letting her breathe like that.

Speaking of bikes, this here'll make you appreciate motorcycle tire technology...

If you do the math you will find the radial acceleration (cornering force) to be 1.5g and the force the rider feels to be 1.8g.

The man on that motorbike is Casey Stoner, probably the quickest rider in history. He retired last year at the age of 27, and the sport is not the same.

Sometimes known as Crashy Stoner, he must have been on the line between max speed and crash speed all the time.

IN TUCSON
just before summer arrives,
the sidewalks heave a sigh,
preparing for another long hot dry spell,
before the monsoon rains arrive.

There's a local shortline, called the North Shore Railroad, that operates between Northumberland and Berwick, maybe 30-35 miles in length, on track that used to be used by the DL&W. All it delivers are a couple of tank cars/box cars to local businesses, never more than 5 cars at a pop. Runs up and down Rt. 11 between Bloomsburg and Berwick, and always fun to watch it trundle by. Today I was at a redlight, back from Rt. 11 so that you don't come to a stop on the tracks hard by the side of the highway, and to the right, a car dealership. The blinking lights indicated the train was coming, but the dealership hid it, but I wasn't in a hurry, so I looked forward to it's passing by. What a treat, then, when the diesel went by pulling first a Pennsylvania caboose, then three newly-painted Pennsy passenger cars with the clerestory windows, then two more Pennsy cars, first a 'parlor', and then a 'pullman'. I guess there's an excursion coming up on the holiday, but what a hoot anyway. And me without a camera.
