Hmmm.So that one "flowering"is the end of the plants life.
How long does it take to get to that stage?
Seeds are all spread at time of death also,I guess.

Bought the plant in a small pot five years ago. So maybe 5 or 6 years to bloom. The one next to it is same age and shows no sign of blooming.
I am waiting to see if the flower stalk produces seeds, bulbils or both.

"Beer made from elephant poop," is what the press keeps reporting. It is not made from elephant poop. It is regular beer with coffee beans called Black Ivory being used for flavor (also gives it a dark color and a unique flavor.) The Black Ivory coffee beans come from 20 special coffee bean loving elephants at the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation in Northern Thailand. After passing through the elephants, they are picked out of the elephant dung, washed and sold for $1,100 per kilogram. Black Ivory coffee has limited availability, being available at a few luxury hotels for $50 a cup (and in Un Kono Kuro beer.) The last reference says the shelves of Un Kono Kuro beer were emptied with-in a few hours on the first day of distribution.

I had fun translating the Japanese characters on the bottles. Japanese can be written in vertical lines read from right to left or horizontal lines, read from left to right. I prefer horizontal, left to right.

Spring has arrived at Dungfield Manor, and the newest resident of the Gardens makes his morning appearances.











A very shy and quick little thing, no bigger than a teacup. Some of the shots are a little out of focus, having been taken through a window and relying on the auto-focus of the camera. He's just too dam quick to get a good manual focus on.

However, he finally humoured me with the 'classic" rods-down roster shot:




Then there appeared one of the more pregnant looking voles I've ever seen; very jealous of my attentions to the rabbit, no doubt:

Him and everyone else. There are finches nesting in the little hemlocks just outside the library windows, with very hungry baby finches in evidence. Thrushes abound, as do doves and various sparrows.

Thus the cats spend a great deal of the morning watching Kitty-Telly out the windows what with all the 'channels' available, and the Manx "I'm over-stimulated" chatters, chirps, and squeaks are heard throughout the morning hours (afternoons being given over to naps).

...and the garden continues to be home for all things furred and feathered.

It seems the Young Squire will be denied the use of his play-yard for a bit, as this robin has decided to move in. Rather unusual to see robins setting up housekeeping in man-made structures, but here we have it.
