Thanks, Mitch! It seems as though the U.S. Army wants to share my birthday as today I have to head to Marana, Arizona to another NCO school. :?
If some of you might remember I spent my last birthday sitting in the Atlanta Airport waiting on a flight back to Iraq.

But on the bright side maybe I'll run into Wayne out there!!!

Happy birthday, Jon! All the best, buddy, no matter where you are. I raise my glass to you . . .
That a life will be spent gaining inches,
When this distance is read in miles.

Jon,

Happy Birthday!

If you are coming this week, good timing. Weather still cool, 60 degrees at night, mid 90's in afternoon.

Pinal Airpark is an interesting place. Maraina residents used to report large aircraft coming and going at night, lights out.

Most cactus are in bloom this time of year.

Happy birthday Jon.

The Pinal Airpark is right up the road from Marana Airport. It is a National Guard helicopter training site and also has rows and rows of large passenger jets parked there. Its operated by Evergreen and they convert 747's into forest fire tankers. It was also the home of Air America which was an opration of the CIA in the Vietnam era. It still has a number of restricted areas on the field.

I meant Pinal Airpark. For some reason I called it Marina Airfield. (Can't even spell Marana.) There is a Marana Airfield, but it is for civilians. I'm going back and edit.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!!!
I've now realized that one can never really appreciate Wayne's photo's until you have experienced Arizona in person!!! That to include being chased across the parking lot by the most hideous looking bird I've ever seen !
