Spring has sprung in the Sonoran desert. Riding my bicycle through the desert this afternoon I noticed the Cleftleaf wild heliotrope (Phacelia crenulata) blooming.

How about a couple of old time railroad songs for the hobos?

"900 Miles"
"The Wabash Cannonball"

Hey Doc Wayne, Since flowers are a plant's invitation to the rest of Nature to visit and "stimulate" it, have you observed which visitors this plant appears to induce, primarily, to pay it that visit?

No Murph, there is nothing visiting the scorpian weeds in daytime (another name for Phacelia crenulata.) The pollinators must come at night.

Jon,

Five percent is not all that bad. [opinion] Remember 3.2% beer from the PX? :(

Speaking of PX beer, found this wonderful pencil drawing titled, "PX Beer Garden."

Kind of stark. The one at Fort Polk had seating outside for drinking and B.S.ing (Being Social.)

Wayne, if that's a sketch of Ft. Polk nothing has changed since '44.
Trust me!!!
Now if you all would bow your head in a moment of silence as my dumb *** just re-enlisted for another 3 years. What was I thinking?
