If I may interject, what a fabulous kitty - in attitude, generosity, and all-round plucky appearance! I've been in the "market" for a cat, but haven't been adopted by one yet. Lordknowz I have pimped myself out there enough times, to let 'em know I'm available for just a return hug , or even just a pleasant glance, but not a purr or wink yet. (I wonder if it's my breath? I actually check it before going in close for a "Hi, Kitty!") My wife and I sat amidst a gaggle of kittens, last summer, and they ALL walked around us, not stopping once for so much as a curious look up at our mugs. Oh well, I guess it wasn't in the Kitty Universe Cards, as yet. But we keep a-tryin' and a-smilin' . :?
(Thanks for your time. I now return you to your conversation....) :)

Our cats got new catnip toys last night. Think the opening scenes from Super Troopers when the stoner kids get pulled over.

Cat-From-Hell!?!?! Aren't they all

Murph,

You are going about it the wrong way. You have to reach out and touch them to find one that is Spunky.

toward your wrist and start kicking. If you are lucky you can get it off before you lose too much blood.

Bob,

No, not all cats are from hell. Some are total nerds.

OMG, Wayne, I love those cat shots! To me, part of the fun of being allowed (by them) to hug and co-habitate w/ a cat is that they have a joie de vivre, all their own. My evidence for that is how they revel in life's every minute, with no time wasted or bemoaned by them, that's for sure. Plus, when they are threatened w/ lethal danger, they really complain likehell. They hold on tightly, just like your kitten there, givin' ya' whatfor. When I first saw that picture, I could hear the accompanying, Dunn..da....Duuuuhhhh....ATTACK!!!!! :D

Whilst CFH, being a Southwestern cat, is cooling her (what suffices for) heels in the ice-plant, here in the North-East things are rather different. Here, one of the Church Ladies enjoys a nap on her favourite chair by the woodstove, only to be momentarily awakened by the pop of a coal.

Warm belly fur on a cold day...
What a life!

Come spring, the birds and squirrels will once again be supervised from the library window. The rabbits shall be coached along in rabbit-like activities.

I, OTOH, prefer barbecued over good old fashioned West-By-God-Smile-When-You-Say-That-Virginia made Kingsford charcoal. (Formerly served by the Good Olde Western Maryland, thank you very much).

As the Servant of TWO cats, I do get to see their supervisory capabilities on a daily basis. Even the local dogs are under constant watch, and kept in line by ambush, intimidation, and just plain fear. Oh, to live their lives...
