Tramp, fantastic article! (penned by the Most Holy Supreme Exalted Grand Poobah of eccentrics  )

No one is going to retire upon that caper. Might be the first stolen horseshoe post in Belfast crime history.

LMAO!!

Loved the Poetry Clothesline... (and look how way normal I am). Truly inspired! Your grass next year will never have grown so green! (there goes your sod, in the dead of night)

Pete, thanks for reading. I wonder if anyone else will try a poetry clothesline?

Do you think Hal will forgive me? Or maybe he'll be pleased. Not easy to read a true eccentric. There aren't many left even around here.

Isn't it funny that D put up the same thing I asked you not to? Thank you both for your silence.

Too many of what seem to be insider comments that I don't understand.

Tramp,

Once again I can say that when I read this column I could see the Ranger and the Bear in my mind [yes I do have one].

Pete, I figured. At least it will take him about six years to come here to shoot me. And he'll probably forget by then, though his father lived to be a 102. As Jimmy Hakken says, "We never know when the dark scythe is coming through the tall grass, do we?"

Roger, sorry about the insider stuff. But since you're nicest hobo in the Jungle, I know you'll forgive us. I think most of it refers to the column.

Roger, since Daisy 'spilled the beans' first, I figured I could freely and without-guilt stick my nose in Tramp's business, because by then, the 'cat was out of the bag'.
Tramp and Daisy have a Maine coon cat, hence the extension.
"Hal" was in his column.

This is for Rufus, but Tramp, you may hang it on your clothesline. (It was your column and mention of Hal's, "Snow driven by the wind" that gave me the idea.

Well, as eccentrics go, this crowd is pretty cool about it!

I wrote a column for 3 years while employed at the local paper, I can really understand the grind, coming up with 25-30 column-inches per week, getting to the the editor for his weekly mangling of my already mangled thoughts. Let's not even discuss my version of the Queen's English!

One must be somewhat eccentric to truly have fun with life. I'm not one for poetry, but I can appreciate the creativity it takes to be a true wordsmith.

So, hats off to us eccentrics, oddballs, and other assorted miscreants at the digital campfire.

Except that's Burns and not the actual title as well..........

And you think to apply the message of this to me?

Perhaps I can qualify as being well published, at least within my fields of study, but a wordsmith is not something I can do anything other than to aspire to and is a status that I will never achieve.

I do however enjoy just about anything that is well written, provides a bit of thought, and/or brings forth a few moments of jocularity.

Th' model train hobby seems tae attract eccentrics. An' ye ur a body ay th' best. It is a pleasure tae ken ye, Rufus T. Firefly.
