darsenau,

Thank you for the heads up.
I'll be looking for an old computer geek who is not missing the snow at all.
I'll be dressed as an old retired sparky not missing my 7 AM to 5 PM job at all.

You guys in PA can stop looking for darsenau, I think I found him here in AZ. Let you know for sure after 6 NOV, 2010.

I remember a neighbor that had one of those hang on the window air conditioners that was from the '30s and used a block of ice.

Can't do it in a modern vehicle; they lost that part of the art, too.

It doesn't take much for me anymore either. The rant part that is.

Took the Better Half and Daughter in Law to Pittsburgh today.Discovered that my GPS SUCKS in a high rise downtown environment. Add in the obligatory shell cratered streets, closed, idiots on cell phones wandering in front of the Jeep, (the tire rub noise was used to great effect in several instances) and rude shopkeepers, well, I don't miss being near that crap.

But, there is a Starbucks on almost every corner!

Yet another sign of the coming apocalypse.......

And it's coming sooner than you might think...

I was handed this by a very sincere, concerned, and altruistic man on the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ, back in August. My sincere apologies for not letting you guys know sooner, that ye might have had these few extra weeks to do your much-needed repenting....

They are holding something?

York was quite an experience for me.I am sorry that I did not get to visit all of the halls or any of the meetings.
It would be nice to attend again but very unlikely.

Oh, I be repenting, all right; yep, and hopin' for the best and bahavin' as best I can (which has its limits. :? )

You can imagine my surprise, while scrolling through our pleasant neighborhood here, at seeing my own mug-shot from better-behaved days (a relative term, I realize) staring back at me! I guess it's time to get back into the mix of all the shenanigans here at the MTJ jamboree. I have had my fill of the requisite post-York resting, unloaded the Bucket, and begun making changes on the layout, in expectation of the upcoming Holidays. So, I can sit still, now, like a proper neighbor, and yak it up a bit.

The TCA meet at York was a tremendous pleasure because I was able to meet Roger in person (exactly as I pictured him) who I quickly further realized was a decidedly pleasant, amiable person I wanted to hang out with more often, received the happy surprise of having Hev kind of full-back into me at my booth (are we sure he doesn't have football gear on under his T-shirt,) enjoyed seeing his very pleasant wife again, met CSX AL (his turntables are fabulous, and he looks far younger in person than his avatar photo,) and conversed w/Sarge, who was as unique a schmoozer in person as on the typed page.

I wasn't able to spend as much time socializinging w/ these MTJ friends as I'd have liked due to vigorous sales traffic all three days - almost frenetic, at times - in my little booth. So, Dirt, it would seem your pre-event good wishes must have bestowed their welcome blessing because I returned home w/ only 1/3 my inventory, which has me full of happiness and gratitude, sustained these four days since the show.

Also, I barely noticed the rain, but I did notice the sunshine and blue skies when they smiled during the meet. Oh, and one more thing, I did eat Wednesday thru Sunday at the Hersheys Farm Restaurant, as anticipated, and am still recovering from all that vegetable-dominated, healthy feasting, and happily so (plus lots of ice cream shoved into tall, cold root beers as appetizers.)

Murph, did you happen to take any pictures of your scenic modules that you sell at York that you could post here so the rest of us could see them. Of the modules that you sold what type of scene was the most popular ??
