Pete, what have you been eating?

Everything in front of me!
I'd make a list, but I don't want to burn out the word processor.

And here's when I did a 180, looking past the engine house.

This was the direction I was looking when the train ran me over.
Doc says I'll be fine in about 2 years.

Who is the scuzzy looking character with the pipe?
Yuk yuk
I'm so pissed off that I missed this golden opportunity for my bronzed god like proportions to be displayed at their best.

Next time I'm making sure I have the cash stashed secretly in advance before I make plans. It looks really interesting and I'm definitely suffering from serious case of dampflokomotiven withdrawal.

Sorry we missed you, Mike!

I did try to get a video of the valve-gear of the engine as it was starting up, but Hev tipped-off the engineer, and he kept the bleed-valve on the steam cylinder open, all the way past me.

So if any of you guys want to see what it's like to be inside a cumulus cloud with a bell ringing, let me know, and I'll try to get it on youtube.

:( :D

Absinthe, known as the "cocaine of the 19th century," was a distilled liquor ....
...a narcotic producing a variety of disturbing physical and mental problems. Known as "the green fairy," "the plague," "the enemy," and "the queen of poisons,"
.... caused great social problems partly because it became associated with inspiration and freedom and became a symbol of decadence....
...Absinthe, unlike more popular beer, is relatively expensive and its use is generally restricted to the middle class and to certain artistic groups, where, it is reported, its hallucinatory effects ... much appreciated.

Now we know how Murph comes up with those fantastic realistic model scenes....

OMG, Where do I start. I have a million things to do today but made the mistake of jetting to the computer to see ole' Wayne's latest muttering, and I find his latest dandy shenanigans.

First of all, it's all true, every word. In fact, I just pulled out the Sambuca Romana to check (by fragrance) if I had been on the right track w/ my previuos sniffing, huffing, and imbibing. Doc Wayne's discovery and "outing" explains why I prefer to do my whittlin' (as the wife and I call whatever it is that I do once I submerge myself in the workshop downstairs) after having had a "toke" or two.

Hawhevah, the "green fairy" and "queen of poisons" parts I will take exception to, only on the basis of not being that free a spirit  :| , nor that attractive. The "dacadence" and mental problems are let stand, however, as one or more voices on this very fourm will attest fit the Murph properly, no doubt.

And "hallucinatory effects" fits a whole 'nother decade, back in this chubbie's weighed-only-163lbs days, as I lurked - not on yet-to-be-invented cyberspace forums but - among Avenues A, B, & C of the Lower East Side, conked-out on the occasional parkbench (hobo credentials , there, me buckos) and hanging outside The Purple Onion in its early Barbra days, lookin' for...inspiration. 8)

So, ya'll can consider me outed by the best of 'em, good ole' Doctor Wayne, the hobo-at-heart who knows his desert(s) well, including all the available "products," no doubt.

Have you ever wondered how Murph makes such convincingly realistic scenes?

You saying he has methods??

I always assumed he was a Wizard, and had a wand of the wood of a Holly with a Phoenix feather down it's middle, eleven inches long, and supple, with red and gold sparks coming off it's end.

I've seen Murph's gorgeous work in person. Nobody's going to convince me he's a Muggle. Nobody.

Dirt,

I could go through the same area and never see the scenes that are in your above photos.

Nor could I take any as interesting.

Murph,

We will be at York whenever we are allowed in to set up.Wednesday?

I am not surprised. If it lived up to its reputation, it would be illegal.

Do not know about wormwood cups. What is it?

Once the fall TCA hajj is over, shall we set a date for the next gathering of the Horsemen?

Sarge, I'll be here:
Orange Hall: ww-04, right next to the big roll-up door on the east side of the building, where the morning sun comes blazing in. As you face that door (just to the L. of the ice machine in the attached photo; the brick facade is the front of the Orange Hall/Toyota Arena,) the edge of my both is on your right, immediately as you enter. Black covers; everything in acrylic cases. I'd be proud to see ya' . :D

Point #2: As long as there is no snow anywhere near us (like, all the way from North Dakota to PA :? ), I'm up for another dose (it's good for what ails ya') of da Hev and da Dirt, anytime, and getting properly acquainted w/ any other good folk from the forum is great w/ me.

Either way, I'll look for your pipe and pleasant smile.

ANG Bob, and who also might find this interesting...

It is somewhat humbling to see stuff you played with as a kid in antique stores at outrageous prices, but this guy was pretty cheap. Found this for $10 when my wife and I were out yesterday. Had one when I was a kid, nice to see one again. My kid thinks it's "way coooooool"
