Come to think of it, that Hummer could carry almost all of your gun collection.
It would be a tough walk, for Airborne, to Missip, but Lancaster is do-able!!
But, hmmm,... ***... guns... ***... guns...
Never mind. Hev got it right.

Would you believe Jon was hauling pumpkins in that Stretch V? What did you guys think you were looking at?
Received a new railroad book today with many interesting stories about Hobos. Here is one:
"There was a saying that you could easily tell a hobo from a bum," said famous Hobo King Steam Train Graham. "While they both lined their coats and jackets with insulating newspapers, the hobo read his first."
--Tucson Was A Railroad Town by William D. Kalt III, page 75.

Now, that's interesting. I liked that one, Wayne.

On this day, 55 years ago, James Dean died.

Also died on this day in 1985: Simone Henriette Charlotte Kaminker
A French cinema actress better known as Simone Signoret.
Remember, "The Sleeping Car Murder" (1965) starring Simone Signoret and her husband Yves Montand?

Re: Hobo Jungle
Ah...Yves Montand. He was great in Frankenheimer's Grand Prix in 1966, certainly one of the greatest racing movies ever made. The first tem minutes of that one will send you running for your car keys...

The first ten minutes had me on the edge of my seat in the theater, literally. And was actually driving an F1 in 1966.

This is not my 1948 F1, mine was white.

You fellows might be interested in watching a video offered on YouTube about the making of the movie.

Re: Hobo Jungle
The dvd I have includes the "Making of Grand Prix", which in itself, is a great piece of film. Another great Frankenheimer film for car action is "Ronin", tearing through the streets of Paris. The guy new how to push iron and take pictures, that's for sure. Gone a bit too soon, though...

That would be me, for one.
R&T has their Fall Festival the 8th and 9th. I'm coming down Friday for R&T and staying over. Saturday, R&T in the morning, and then I'll see you at Strasburg at 1400, unless you want to hit R&T with us first in the morning.
