Murph, ya got the spirit!!

(Or were you INTO the 'spirits'?) :wink:

Talk about feeling like a kid and wading in the river- Evan had a summer biology project, and had to field-find some 20 specimens, including an "aquatic arthropod", so off we went to Fishing Creek, that runs through Orangeville. I thought it was going to be a pain in the ***, but we not only found a big craw-dad, we wound up having a great time and were there for about 2 hours, lots of worn bedrock on which to jump around, burbling water, V's of honking geese winging up and downstream below the treeline, cool breeze and cool water, and we even saw a kingfisher. Went back the next day with Leah, who felt left-out, and spent another two hours. There, 61 years old, going on 10!

I put this next poem up last year. What I didn't previously know is that this guy wrote it after meeting Murph!

~~~~~~~~~~~
A Vagabond Song (by Bliss Carman)
There is something in the autumn that is native to my blood --
Touch of manner, hint of mood;
And my heart is like a rhyme,
With the yellow and the purple and the crimson keeping time.
The scarlet of the maples can shake me like a cry
Of bugles going by.
And my lonely spirit thrills
To see the frosty asters like a smoke upon the hills.
There is something in October sets the gypsy blood astir;
We must rise and follow her,
When from every hill of flame
She calls and calls each vagabond by name.
Perfect words, Dirt. It looks like I got the spirit and the call and comletely "got" the poem. I figured you'd know where I was coming from, all along (and you, too, Roger.) You had your "bugles going by" with your "V" of honking geese.." and were further blessed by sharing it all w/ perfect company, no less. Bravo.
Roger, I know exactly where he was.
The photo HE put up had been photo-shopped, to protect the guilty.
I was able to obtain a copy of the original...
Oh. I thought there was a train layout in there, not a bevy of babes. Yet, he does look healthy enough to handle the company, a layout, and still drive the thing w/ one hand and an arm out the window. What a guy.
I should thank you Pete. Moxie is more of a New England drink, I have never tried it before. It tastes pretty good. Not as sweet as most sodas. I wonder why the bottles I picked up at that store say "Moxie Nerve Food?"
Opps, never mind, I found the answer.
Moxie was created around 1876 by Dr. Augustin Thompson. Thompson claims that it contains an extract from a rare, unnamed South American plant, which was discovered by a friend of his, Lieutenant Moxie, who used it as a panacea. Moxie, he claims, is especially effective against "paralysis, softening of the brain, nervousness, and insomnia."
After drinking it I feel my muscles getting soft, my brain hard, calmness and I am falling asleep. I'm going to have to go back and get some more.
AS am I!
"Well honey, the dealer offered me this really really sweet deal see, but he said it needs folks inside to help with the braking force distribution and well these college girls needed a ride to their Bible class....."
(at least it sounds as good as any other line of bullshit)
