San, Naaa. Nothing like that!! I just was standing a little too close to the reactor in the basement. I think I'm gonna be fine now.

First thing this morning my electric stove exploded, blowing a hole in my kettle. Power was fried in part of the house. Just got everything fixed including a fresh burner (amazing that my local had one) in my 1950 Westhouse Commander. Time for a BEER!

Tramp, you're lucky YOU didn't get fried!

Duct tape oughta take care of that hole in your kettle.

In regards to it being tough to lower your wick, first question is...is your wick hard, or soft?
They go down much easier when they're soft.

Has anyone here ever wanted a Volvo P544?

I have been in love with them forever. They look like a downsized '48 Ford. They were the first car I ever saw with shoulder restraints and mechanical, progressive, dual carburation.

Anyone know how to wire a Calrod range coil? This is for my stove. It heats, but medium is high, high is not quite high, etc. Three wires and a ground. I don't need another explosion.

I took a chance, switched the white and black, stood back. Works perfectly.

This 1950 Westinghouse is an amazing stove. I've rebuilt about everything including the oven-heat switch and everything still works. And I know nothing about stoves.

Hey! I'm finally fully routed and on my own laptop up here so I could log in as my own self. We're headed up to the roof with Mooseheads to watch the rain from under the eves. I've never been so happy never been so happy never ever never.

And thank you Clouser for the help with the stove. I'm afraid my Japanese dinner the previous evening may have been the cause of the explosion: I'd like to know ANYONE who can whip off tempura cleanly. One thing I can say about Tramp is he's a gentleman and a poet even under threat of complete house wiring meltdown. Melville said, "Surely we would anchor, but all shore is quicksand." I think I may have found solid ground for once.

All drinks are on me tonight. Open bar. I'll even bring yours out curbside to your Volvo with a live tadpole in it.
