JON!!

Take that picture, blow it up, put it in a frame, hang it on your wall.

My God, the look, in both their eyes. The Bond, thick as a 200 year old oak.

I'd found a cause I'd be willing to lay my Life down for, when I had kids.

Jon, Tramp, Petey. Downright pastoral. I am finishing some work from work at the kitchen table. But I can look out the greenhouse windows at the yard and Japanese Black Pines as the sun filters through the branches.

I can also see the rabbits that have been munching away at my lawn, get up once in a while, and blast away at the critters with the pellet gun. So far, they've been lucky.

Down East Sentinel: June 24-

Purported crazy man arrested as he ran erratically and alarmingly through neighborhood yards, pointing and shouting. Neighbors stated he was ranting about a bug. Taken for psychiatric evaluation. Police refuse to release his name, pending notification of immediate family.

I guess, now in the sober light of day, that if we get that torqued about a damn baler, we're in some serious need of excitement around here.

Jon,

Nicolas Smith shows the order is complete, but did not reveal a tracking number. So I guess it's going to be a surprise. They'll show up here in the Jungle not too long after their arrival.

Did I whine during the winter?
Did I gripe about having to walk 1/4 mile through snowdrifts to get to my car?
Was I the D-Bag who complained about the cold and the snow?

Cripes, it's so hot/muggy here today, I'd go dive bare-ass-naked head-first into a snow bank right now.

Thank God we have the horse trough.

Though maybe a beer might help...

Races tonight! Pit-passes!
Local dirt track oval, go-karts and micro-sprints. They run counter-clockwise, but they spend so much time sliding in the corners, they steer to the right as much as to the left. Sounds of roaring motors, dust, and unburnt racing fuel floating into the night. A bazillion bugs whirlgigging in the yard lights. Hotdogs and french fries and soda. Spin-outs and wall-bangers. Wrenches flying in the pits.

Me and Mr. Dirtbike on a Saturday night.
How sweet it is.

Guess I just have to face it.
I'm a gosh-danged dyed-in-the-wool simpleton.

Lynard Skynards

"Simple Man"

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
And if you do this
It will help you some sunny day.
Take your time... don’t live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
Go find a woman and you’ll find love,
And don’t forget son,
There is someone up above.

(chorus)
And be a simple kind of man.
Be something you love and understand.
Be a simple kind of man.
Won’t you do this for me son,
If you can?

Forget your lust for the rich man’s gold
All that you need is in your soul,
And you can do this if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

(chorus)

Boy, don’t you worry... you’ll find yourself.
Follow you heart and nothing else.
And you can do this if you try.
All I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied
Running that red block Charlie.
