Hev:

Mine is not much, we have a circle under the tree with grandmas Christmas train, and in the bed room its a 5' x 6' 2 oval layout. But its at least something and the kids love it. The wife says I won't be able to leave the room with the trains cause of the 3 year old grand daughter...she loves trains. So far I have the platform up and I have the 2 ovals of track up on the platform but I still have to tack down the track and start on the town.

Jim,

That works. Interesting to see how much more track fits in 5x6 than 4x6. The outer loop appears to have 20 inches of straight track on the ends. Does this one get a Christmas tree in the middle?

Wayne:

No it doesn't get a Christmas tree in the middle. I will be putting a town in the middle with buildings lighted. You are right about 20" of straight track on the outer loop on the ends, and 35" on straights on the side. Its a work in progress. Not much but its fun anyway. I don't have much to run but two trains but I get them in there. We have a 4' x 4' platform for mama's Christmas train under the tree in the living room. Also I found a small 6' x 6' carpet that I am using for grass that I took a foot off the side.

Well so far today I have had to run the train...oops I mean Choo-ch00 5 times today and I know there will be some more cause my daughter doesn't get here from work until at least 5:15 so I know there will be a few more. Every once in a while Aimee comes and says..."Choo-choo" and grabs my hand to come and run the trains.

Well we made it to six times today to run the Choo-choo...She had a ball watching the Choo-choo. Had a smile of her face from ear to ear. Thats what its all about. It makes it worth all the work. A labor of love.
