Tramp,

1988. So it's been awhile. I got it in my head that I would like to see Conn., NH, and Maine in the all too brief summer season. I was working from time to time with a customer of my employer in Windsor Locks, Conn. So I commandered the rental car and appended a road trip to one of my business trips. I had a good time. I would like to think it has not changed much around there.

Your map was a tad baffling. My mother lives a few miles from that ice cream factory, I was born in Gorham, and I drive past Paul all the time. Did you know all that from staring into the fire? Welch's is still there and you can still get a turkey dinner, their signature dish, at Wilfred's. They still serve that god-awful Indian pudding.

I wish I could say I see all of this through dreaming the fire and clairvoyant vision. The cold hard truth is I web search on places I have visited in the past and try to note anything new, different, or correlated to recent discussions.

Here's what Gorham would look like from the perspective of a hypothetical B-52 air strike.

San, I'm going nuts trying to recognize anything--the common, the railroad (Grand Trunk still blasts through daily), Route 2, but I can't find a damn thing. Then I look. Wrong state! I was born in Gorham, NH, right at the foot of Mount Washington.

B-52s are known for range so we could swing over and carpet bomb J's Restaurant and Lounge. Jon can deal with Libby's Bistro by means of a Blackhawk surgical strike using Indian Pudding splatter bombs. Bet they have never seen anything like that. The Moonbeam Cafe and Fine Food establishment might be spared on the basis of name alone.

Hey, let me give you an update on this damn crane kit. I've kit bashed a bit and done some scratch building but this thing is a ****** nightmare. If you enjoy:
A: Jacking off to Engineering Quarterly
B: Forging Buick pistons in your backyard
C: Helped design the Hubbell telescope
Then this kit is for you.
Things that suck about the kit:
A: Sorry instuctions trying to cover all the models from N to O scale.
B: The ****** boom for the thing is made of pressed cardboard. As you can see from the photo I'm having to handcraft a metal boom.
C: They claim lots of metal parts. Bullshit, lots of sorry resin parts.
D: I ordered the rolling version and it did'nt even come with a pair of trucks.. Pleeese.

I think I've died and gone to heaven! I got out of work and spent an hour or so with a friend from NYC who dropped by for happy hour on her short visit to Austin. She had to get back to her aunt's house, and as she was driving me home I noticed at least two miles of the sweetest vintage cars parked along my road. GOD! I've got to go and investigate these sweet hot rods. My heart is pounding like a nine-day old pup's. I wish you could only be here with me to enjoy this rare occurance. Sometimes life is exquisite and today is that day!
