San! Have you been sneaking around my basement again? Hey, I don't make things up either. I really do have a giant stove pipe! Stop listening to my ex and all my old girlfriends, they're confused!

Jackie, was your incubus double-pronged? Many are, though luckily I've not been attacked. Are there gay incubuses? I've never had a succubus either, though I can think of a past girlfriend that must have been close. Have you read La Bas?

Tramp, it never got a chance to penetrate, so I don't know how many "prongs" Dr. Ancient Ahole had. But, oh boy, San, it had some sharp teeth! My hand ached for a while, though there were no scratches or punctures. I was reading a tome on demons and demonology the evening before, so maybe it was like a Ouija board influence - my brain channeled the scum. Needless to say, if I take any reading to bed now, it's always something with a happy ending, or absolutely mild. Though late last night, I watched "Rosemary's Baby" before bedtime, while my grandchildren Bella (4 months) and Jack (3 years) spent the night over. Jack slept on the sofa bed (he's always rolling all over the place) and Bella slept with me. A couple of times I would wake to find her staring at me which gave me goosebumps and made my nape bristle, but then she'd give her Nana that sweet little dimpled smile, and all was good again.

I have not read "La Bas." Should I? I would wager there are gay incubi, since they out number succubi. And it seems every handsome man I meet lately is gay. Says a lot about the women out there, I guess. BMWs.

There were still some Burma Shave signs left when I was a kid, here's one for the hobos:

Jackie, La Bas is maybe the best book on the black arts. It's fiction, by Huysmans, turn-of-the-century. Funny in places, but very interesting about the life of Gilles De Rais, the monster who murdered children. A character in La Bas is writing about the duke. It's not for everyone.

Frank. That's a great one.

I'm slo-o-o-w cookin' a kettle of my red-ass chili with a jug of sour mash. It's guaranteed to ward off ANYTHING evil.

Choose a caption contest.

Jon, you really look kind of good with the beard.

Military regs are changing, eh?

That full moon the other night really focked you up, buddy.

Jon, I watched that movie every year as a kid, though my family didn't have a TV. The new lines were for you. Sorry they sucked.

Jon, it seems to me that your red-ass chili would conjure all things evil in the end.

Thanks Tramp, I'll read it some day, but strictly during the sunlight hours.

Jackie, I suppose it would depend on whose end.

A Chandler?

I'm game! Last night was a sober one, so I shouldn't screw up the entire weekend. Waterworks here. There must be a river growing outside my door, so I'm forced to stay in. Perfect evening for story-telling around the campfire, don't you think?

Between the two of us, either end would be cool.

But, allow me to prepare you a Chandler. They really are quite good. Bourbon or Irish? Scotch? But I think not.

I am a succubus. A thirsty one.
